I would have a part 2 to the conversation. See how the news has set in. Her initial reaction, although inappropriate, may have just been due to "shock." After you speak w/ her again, if u think she may change how she cares for your son now, pull him now!

I think giving 6 months notice was wayyyy more than you needed to do and she should understand that.

Honestly, I hope she was just shocked and had a very poor reaction.

If you speak to her again and she doesn't change her tune, I would absolutely pull him asap. You'd be saving money and not have to worry about her attitude affecting her care for him.

if you honestly think that this news will change the way she cares for your son, pull him.

that is HER fault. she could have thanked you for the advanced notice and start looking for another child to watch.

instead she tells you she was going to ask you for MORE money and left you with an ill-at-ease feeling.

hell no.

talk to her again and if things don't feel kosher, pull him, and tell her why.

I agree.

I am a big fan of doing the right thing-and you did, you gave her a ton of notice which is the right thing to do.

However, if that is going to bite you in the tush than I would pull him now.

See how she is when you pick him up. If you still get that weird vibe tell her you wanted to give her as much notice as possible so that she can adjust but that given the way the conversation went, you are now concerned about her care for your son and so you are pulling him immediately.

I agree word for word V.

You were more than generous with the notice you gave her. She should have thanked you and shut up. The worst part is after you told her, she had the nerve to tell you that she was going to hit you up for more money and basically tell you how rude you were being! Not cool!

After that show, I would save the money and pull him now. But that is me.

Ugh! Honestly, if it were me- and she reacted that way- AND it was going to save us money, I would pull him now. What do you have to lose?

Re: Ughhhhhhhhhh - what to do... what to do.....

My sitter knew this is the last year she would watch my son and is fine with it. We have a yearly contract and she knows I want him in the same preschool with his sister next year. I get the occasional guilt trip but she is just like thatChat Icon I would pull him in two weeks. Her reaction was very strange.

IF you are going to feel uncomfy & you feel she will change the care she gives to James, I would pull him now & start to save the $$ sooner then later.

Especially since she told you flat out after you told her that you were pulling him, that she wanted a raise & all, I would definately think about pulling him soon

I agree with what the others said. If she seems weird to you when you pick him up then I would pull him and start him in the daycare at work. BTW, that is awesome that they have that daycare! I wish we did!
