What color pantyhose?
This is the dress I'm wearing Saturday night to a function for DH's company. Not sure if I should go with black or nude..

I like black, because since the dress is primarily black, it elongates the shape, KWIM?
Plus, it's winter and black can look really sexy.

It's his kickoff awards dinner...Last year, there were women in simple skirts & others in cocktail dresses. I was not in the mood to wear my cocktail dress since it is in NYC this year & we have to walk. I'm wearing black heels

Well then you could go either way. nude legs seem dressier, but it's too cold to go tightless if youhave to walk & msot people say nude stockings are dated, but you could still do it of you have closed toed shoes & can get a stocking color close to your skin tone.
Sheer black hose can also be dated. I'd go with opage hose or tights, as long as the tights don't look to thick & cottony like leggings.

I just think stocking should be banned. I would freeze before I wore stockings and Nude are def a no no.

I wear stocking/pantyhose ALL the timein the cold months esp in the winter. A- my legs are white as hell and nude gives them a little life. B- they also give a slimming appearance.
You could really do either. A black opaque with a black stiletto or boot. Or nude with the same shoe options.
I would try all options and see what looks better.
