DO we like this set up?

I have been trying to figure out what to put on this table-- and I got a few things today. I keep the tray there for mail. This is at our front door.

Do we like the high thing? Any other suggestions? I gotta figure out what to do on the bottom, but with a small child-- I think nothing there is best for now.

Excuse the tags on the branches..

Oh, and by the way-- this the mirror I painted that belonged to my grandparents. Table I got on etsy-- it's reclaimed wood.

I love.

It's very "nature chic" which is like my new scene now.

Looks like something you'd see in a magazine.

and loooooove the mirror!

it's perfectly done without looking too..."done," kwim?

exactly what I was going for-- since it's the front door-- bringing a little outdoors in.

OK-- so if DH likes it when he gets home, we are keeping it.

I think the high branches take away from the mirror. I think I would switch the small jar and the vase this way when you walk in the front door your view is less obstructed..kwim (JMO)

I did try switching everything around earlier, and it just didn't look right. Don't know why...

I think the overall effect is nice but agree with the PP that the branches are too tall. Would you consider chopping off 6" from each of the stems or getting a much taller vase? I think the glass jar needs some height-maybe something underneath in white to tie in the mirror. Great job on the mirror! Just my 2 cents..

Re: DO we like this set up?

hi you asked for an opinion so i will be honest.

i love both pieces but ....seperately. i dont think the styles go with one another.

a plain mirror or one with less detailing would go better with that cool table.

the accessories are nice, and go with the theme of the table with the exception of that try. i dont think it goes with the style. its too formal.

Can you replace the mirror with a different one? and hang that beautfiul white mirror in a different room?

I agree with PP's, I think the tall branches take away from the mirror. I think the table and mirror would look even better together if the mirror had a distressed finish.

I like the branches- but the vase they're in doesn't go. I think you need something more vintage-y or rustic.

Re: DO we like this set up?

thanks everyone... I will try to see if I can cut the branches, but not sure I will be able to.

The mirror in person looks more antique-y as I left some dark parts peeking through, doesn't really show up in the pic.

I love the table! I think the mirror came out great & I do like the two of them together.
The accessories look fine, but I think the modern shape of the vase does stand out a little. Maybe a pitcher would work better.

If the branches are wire you can use wire cutters to trim them. If you have needle nosed pliers, they should have a wire cutter at the hinge.

I like the tub of books the seller had on her lower shelf. Maybe you could do that, so if your daugher plays with them, at least it isn't anything breakable.

I like the table and mirror together -- very eclectic. The mirror turned out great!

I agree with a PP about moving the branches to the far side of the table away from the door.
