So when you say "Long Island," do you mean Nassau and Suffolk counties OR do you mean the entire island???? . So many of us teachers who work in and for the city live in Nassau and Suffolk and I do not plan on driving my kids to day care, then to Brooklyn and back in a foot of snow because Bloomberg and his cronies continue to make bad choices. Besides, I can see myself doing that and none of the little critters would show up for school.
Oh and $20 bucks for Kelly if she gets the LIRR to shut down again.
And champagne!
Money and alcohol. You two know me too well.

there's nothing more annoying than four-six inches
So, either hit me with 10-12 inches or don't hit at all
I just wanted to quote this for posterity.
That's awesome
I mean, really, it applies for weather AND other life lessons as well.

Thanks Kelly, this is great!
My DH is in London and supposed to fly home on Wednesday. I have a feeling that's not going to happen....
I'm supposed to fly back to Germany on Wednesday night.
If this flight gets cancelled for me, it will be the 4th flight I've had cancelled since Dec 17th.
Snow should end in the morning on Wednesday in NYC. There is time to get flights going again.
Hope so

Re: STORM COMING!!!!!! (Update 4:30pm Monday)
First off, I hope your son is feeling better.
Secondly, thank you for posting the storms for us. My DH and I listened to your explanation and it was great. DH and I were watching the weather and he said lets look for the 70/40 lines.

Tues morning:
Forecast looks right on track. If some of the computer models are right, LI could see 2 feet of snow. SOme areas may be in bands, with snowfall rates of 2 inches of snow per hour.
Fun times.
I cant no more!!! SOME ONE ANYONE PLEASE can you come shovel for me.

You really should invest in a snowblower. It is so much easier and better for your back. GL!

oh, well. i guess i'll have to be satisfied with 7+ inches of snow and a delayed opening at work... this usually means that the company buys us all pizza... at least, i'll get a free lunch
