I'm no Kelly, but, I THINK that the band of less accumulation may be higher temps that brings the accumulation down, not necessarily less heavy precipitation....

Upstate has lake effect snow. One day I will go into the explanation of lake effect. It is absolutely crazy.

I'm no Kelly, but, I THINK that the band of less accumulation may be higher temps that brings the accumulation down, not necessarily less heavy precipitation....
Correct. Just means less snow because the precipitation may fall as rain or ice. This is one of the main reasons that eyes are fully on the track of the storm. If we get warm, things could be so different.

Ah, OK I looked up Zulu. It's just another way to say Greenwich Mean Time.  Thank you Great Weather Godess.
