Anyone else got the post holiday blues

just feeling down today with the holidays being over and back to work on monday. i guess back to reality

yes- its always a little sad when its over- it just goes to quickly and now there is really no exciting holidays to look forward until Memorial Day

Yes. I've always felt that the first Monday after the holidays is one of the most depressing of the year. I think it is a combination of the weather and nothing major to look forward to.

I actually dont, but my DH does and we were talking about this today... The way I look at it, we have soo many things this yr that I'm looking forward to that I cant help but to be excited to get the days moving ... If that makes sense lol

Yep! When I was soo happy to take everything down to make my house feel like my house again, I was soo sad to look at the naked tree. I was like, nooo :( lol. But, it'll be here again before ya know it LOL

Happy to lighten the load on my social calendar but NOT looking forward to my work calendar over the next month...

I'm not sad about the holidays but sad that we are headed for the doldrums of winter-the January/February so damn cold, so short days type of sadness. March gives me glimmer of hope though sometimes we get whacked with a huge storm then too

My husband gets them. I don't feel like going to work on monday and am dreading the dreary January, February, March months, but looking forward to 2011!

I used to feel sad at christmas/new year's being over when I was younger but not anymore.

The last few years, sometimes, the holidays BEING here make me sad - last night I felt a little sad - why is that? I *guess* it's been since Ken's injury. I also feel like I get sad for my sister as well - who isn't where she wants to be in life and I'm not going to get into her personal business but she's just not in a happy place. With Ken, every once in a while I'll get sad - I'll think about what he can't do, what he's been through VS. what he CAN do and where he is going. Then, after a moment or two, I'll flip my train of thought to get myself out of that 'mode' and I'm OK. But that happens more often, I think, at Christmas time each year.

I am SO sad the holidays are nearly over drove around today looking at all the lights, sights, etc. Its just so pretty and fun and happy and hopeful and people are in such a good mood coming up to the holidays then Jan 1st arrives and its just so.........dismal.

Thankfully my godchild has a birthday this month and DD has one in Feb so something to look forward to but I would be all for a month long celebration of the holidays season.

DH said today that this coming monday is the most depressing day of the year b/c everything is over, and back to work.

I agree. I hate the winter months..so blah and im tired of cold weather.

This year I am, going back to work after 3.5 mos off from maternity leave.

I was thinking about this tonight as we were driving to dinner with the kids.
My DS gets so excited with all the decorations and lights.
So sad that next weekend we are taking it all down.
The positive is DS' bday is 1/15.
Now, Im "pumping him up" for that.

The holidays approach SO fast and leave even faster. It's sad.

I guess I am too. DH goes back to work Monday and DS goes back to school. It will be just me and baby DS home alone all day till they get home.

Its so boring and lonely. I am dreading Monday. I am going to miss everything about this last week. It went by way to fast.

a little. My brother in law told me i was the saddest thing since new years was over, lol. As crazy as the holidays are, I love spending so much time with family and having the decorations up. It's so plain when everything is down. I also always feel now we have a wholoe new year to get through. yeah..I get kind of a downish feeling.

I used to get really sad when the holidays ended. Now I just try my best to plan a lot of fun stuff for the upcoming weeks because January and February are always so blahhhh

im actually glad the holidays are over. i feel like me & DH have been going non-stop since thanksgiving with lots of parties and family events and we're just tired. DH is working today and he asked me to take down all of our decorations before he gets home cause he wants his house back ... thats not happening lol. im ready to just go back to normal though.

yes, I always get like this after the holidays because I hate winter very much. At least the holidays were exciting. Now it's just cold!

At least this year I have the arrival of my DS to look forward to on 3/1/11.

Yes and no! I love, absolutely LOVE the time from TG to NY. Everyone is so much more chipper, the music, the decorations, the whole cozy atmosphere, etc. It's just a special time.

But lately I've started decorating for Valentine's Day and that makes it not so bad. So while I hate the emptiness that comes NY's, I know that VDay isn't that far off.
