Should I go out & buy a shovel?
What happens to everyone's old shovels???????
I think ours is in the attic. I should really look for that. I should probably find my snow brush too. Damn snow.

Wheeeee I love the white stuff!!!! And I got a BRAND NEW crack pipe in my stocking today so I'm good Kelly your updates are LIGHT YEARS ahead of anything on tv, the other day a forecaster said we have a "cone of uncertainty" and he couldn't predict what was going to happen. Imagine if we all tried that at our jobs??? Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!

YUCK! I hate snow. I dont get paid if I dont go in because of weather but I wont take DS's life (or mine) in my hands by taking him to daycare (IF it's even open).

Kelly, I have to tell you that I am in PA at the moment and skipped ALL weather websites and came here since I knew you would have the best info.
THANK YOU! Hope you are enjoying Christmas.
Now, DH and I have to decide if we are going to stay in PA till Monday (our plan) or leave tomorrow morning, to beat the storm. DH's parents are going to get quite a bit too, it seems.
Decisions, decisions!

Let's be honest here Janet. These type of storms are notorious for power outages when you don't expect them. (ie: the person that doesn't even notice the hanging branches or close trees) We had a massive storm back home in 1991 we I am from. Our trees were just planted two years prior. So those trees were tiny in our new townhouse complex. Yet we still lost power. I am still not sure where the power lines went down, but they did. Not anywhere near the trees along our property.
These updates are just so you are prepared. Get Kryssy's nebulizer charged, batteries ready for flashlights, etc. We pray nobody needs them. But who wouldn't want to be prepared at home?

Remember, these aren't my forecasts. I don't forecast anymore. I just interpret the forecasts so everyone can understand them. No sense in an awesome forecast if you are using weather terms that the public can't understand. I like to be the person between the weather geeks and the public. I build a bridge.

Thank you so much, Kelly. As we speak, my husband is off to the ER with my daughter because of course she had to come down with a major ear infection and possible bronchitis in the middle of the night right before a blizzard! But I have not turned on a television in days, so I'm grateful that you posted about the weather so that I knew to deal with her now rather than later!

Kelly, you rock!!!
We had major travel plans. My SIL from WI is here but on a side trip to Rockland Co, was due back to LI later this afternoon and supposed to fly back tomorrow. Because of your updates the whole family is informed and as prepared as we can be.
Too bad, yesterday, we discovered the snow blower has a flat Oh well.
