Is this even possible at a year old?? (sickness related)

DS just finished antibiotics for an ear infection on Friday. We took him back last night b/c he has been MISERABLE!! The Dr. says he now has a sinus infection?? Dr. Said the previous dr. should have perscribed a stronger dose of the meds but since she didn't it turned into a sinus infection.

Now back on another antibiotic?

I thought babies couldn't get sinus infections b/c their sinus' aren't developed yet???

Anyone have experience with this?

Babies are born with their ethmoid and maxillary sinuses. Both are small, but there is a possibility for babies to get sinusitis. The frontal and sphenoid sinuses begin to develop around 2 or 3 I believe (it's been a long time since school so I'm thinking way back here).

My almost 16 month old DD was just diagnosed with a sinus infection last week, too! I didn't think it was possible either but I guess I was wrong.
