Anyone watch Matt Lauers special with George Bush?
It was on last night, very interesting. I was amazed at his um, responses to a bunch of um, questions. I completely dislike the man, but was so interested in what he said. What did you think?

I thought it was very good. I like his honesty and bluntness. Though I may not agree with all of his policies he doesn't even pretend to put on a front, I actually found it refreshing.

I caught parts of it while DH was watching it. Seemed genuine. But I didnt watch enough to really tell.
did anyone watch the Obama 60 min interview sunday?? b/c I wasnt too impressed with that one.

I agree with this. There are no pretenses with him it seems. I actually have a lot more respect for him now after seeing that interview. He admitted his faults which was refreshing and I love that he said
:president's have enough critics" and wouldn't say anything bad about obama. Classy!!

It was definitely more interesting than Obama's 60 minutes (and I'm still on team Obama)
On one hand I respect that he's been quiet, but on the other hand I found him obnoxious at points (ie no one knows how tough it is to be president blah blah blah - don't run for re-election if it sucks - or at all - if you knew from dad) and i wonder if his silence is an attempt at trying to not get in trouble about the waterboarding?
His answer for that was asinine. The lawyers told me it was legal - so I thought it was ok. 
the interview did intrigue me to read his memoirs though.

His answer for that was asinine. The lawyers told me it was legal - so I thought it was ok.
I didn't think his response was the best but he made a point...there were hundreds of detainees and 3 were water boarded and they got results from all of them. Had they not done it, there could have been more attacks and more innocent lives lost. If from a legal stand point, it wasn't again the law, he made the right decision.

I ddin't see the Matt Lauer Special but I just watched his Oprah interview and I thought it was very good. He was refreshing and IMO honest. I always thought he was a bit of a boob but this interview changed my mind. I found him to be quite witty!

i know what you mean, kind of.. but to me it's more like looking out the window and saying, "oh, hey...there's that dumb@ss neighbor of ours...he's out there searching for leaves to rake, but he's carrying a hedge clipper. this should be fun to watch."
i think he means well
and i think he believes what he is saying
but i also think he's had people in his ears giving him (mis)information.
there were no WMDs.
and no, i don't believe for one second that the US had no single clue that 9/11 was going to happen. i'd bet my life on it that they did.
and kanye's comment was one of the worst things in his presidency? really??
..but I do believe little Bushie Wushie believes in what he is saying.

I am surprised to read how many here say he came off so honest. I think he was always honest in the sense that he was unapologetic - he always seemed to say what he believed and go forth in it...he never backed down from what he said.

I didn't see the interview but the one clip I saw was Lauer explaining the financial collapse and everything that followed and and the jackass was smiling.
There is no telling the number of lives that have been ruined by this man's incompetence as president. He should have never been given any air time.

I saw part of the Oprah interview - he was quite charming. But you could tell he was driving the interview and not Oprah.

George Bush took action when this country needed a leader and we all supported him. Which is alot more than I can say for our current president!

agreed. While I didnt agree with 90% of his policies, I do have to say I have a little more respect for WHY he made the decisions he did, whether or not I agreed with them. I found him to be very personable.
