why are lifers so obsessed with what other moms feed their babies
Whether formula vs bm, or starting solids, or giving cheese, juice, pizza, whatever, what's the deal, why care so much about what other moms are doing?
Nothing else causes so much drama.
Is it just lifers, or do you find moms in your lives judging you?

Nobody IRL has ever judged what I did or didn't feed my kids but that's because they didn't see me give my six month old cotton candy.

I don't know. I really don't understand why so many people worry about everyone else.
Someone on here said a good quote "You worry about you, I worry about me" I think we should all follow it. 
From what I have seen it is an LIF thing, people I know are definitely not as obsessed or judge mental w/what everyone around them does..

I have to say only on LIF did my giving DS cheese get such a crazy reaction....it made DH's grandma's reaction seem tame

It's everywhere. Today I took DS shopping at Waldbaums and the bakery woman gave him a cookie. One cookie entertains him the whole store, and happy DS=happy mama! An old lady rolled her eyes at me and said "can't believe you're giving him that cr@p!" I just stared at her like really!? are you kidding me?

this is the ONLY place where i've ever had ANYONE say ANYTHING to me about food stuff....
organic, non organic, processed, fresh....
in the end - all that matters is that you are doing what's right for your child.

No one in my life has ever questioned the way I feed my kids. My mother is very into organic foods, DH and I are not. Some stuff is organic, but more than 50% of our diet is not. My parents never say anything to us. I have never been made to feel bad about the way I feed my kids on LIF, but I tend not to talk to much about what I feed them.

i have actually used that before....with regards to Em's skin.... she gets heat rash if she's wearing too heavy clothing...or socks....or anything!
people always comment and i now tell them - if you're going to come home with me and deal with the rash she'll get - i'll bundle her up the way you tell me to.

I have been judged in real life. When my babies were in the NICU the nurses pushed breastfeeding but I couldn't do it so I pumped. Even giving them pumped BM I was given a guilt trup that it wasn;t good enough and that I wasn't trying hard enought to BF.
Also, I swear as soon as you give birth the lactation consultant is practically up your a$$.
we had a visiting nurse come when they came home I informed her that I wasn't BF but puming and the reaction was oooohhh...why would you do that? because I freaking feel like it!

That's so funny because I was all for BF and had the exact opposite experience at my hospital....the NICU nurses gave me such a hard time and bullied me into supplementing with formula. It got so bad that DH had to yell at them one day! You just can't win...

It is everywhere I assure you. I was pushed in the NICU as well. I had a kid on a feeding tube and I was pumping for her. Then I battled the beeps of her monitors, her nasal cannula and all of the other mothers feeding their kids with a militant consultant in my face just to get Abby on the boob after 5 days. Nothing could have been more stressful and they showed no mercy.

I was just going to write this, but glad you did because I'm too tired LOL. We had the same experience in the NICU with Winthrop - the nurses were a$$holes in the NICU!!!

Because they all think it's their way or the highway
I kind of think it's funny that people get so up in arms arguing with people they don't even know. The internet is a tricky thing, it brings out the best AND the worst in people.
Also, b/c it isn't face to face conversations I think A LOT of what people say is taken the wrong way.

Formula. Breastmilk. Only Organic. Only McDonalds. Cake. Candy. I could honestly care less as long as the child is healthy, thriving, and happy.
