I know a Kyle (female), Tracy (male), Kendall (female) and Shannon (male). I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them right now.

I've never met a male Kendall. Is it a male name more often?

MY DS has a boy named Kendall in his class.

I went to college with a boy named Kendall. I also knew a girl named Jimmy. Okay, I'm kidding about the latter.

ETA: DH and I were strongly considering Reagan for a DD's name, but people kept saying it sounded like a boy's name... I thought that was odd.

One of my brother's best MALE friends is named Kendall and my niece is named Regan!

I actually like gender neutral names.

I love Dylan for a boy or girl.

I like Bari and Shawn for girls names.

Jamie can be either

I even know a woman named Jeffrey (which is DH's name too!)

My first name is Christian. Everyone assumes I am a boy. I am used to it now. I have met one other girl named Christian but she spells it with a K. When I went into kindergarden the school called my mom to tell her that she marked her son down on the forms as a female. Chat Icon She said that is because he is Chat Icon

Re: Gender Neutral Names

And this is why DH and i are going to try to give our baby a gender specific name. We'll see. Seems like that stuff changes all the time!

Oh I DO know a girl named Jimmy though!

you know what's even worse? when you tell someone your first name -in person or over the phone- and they ask "is that your first name or a last name ?" Chat Icon Chat Icon

I get this ALL the time but with my last name. My married last name is the same as a common girls name (just spelled differently), so essentially I have two girl first names as my name.

Whenever someone asks for my last name, I tell them, and then they inevitably go "No, your last name" to which I know reply "No, that is my last name. I understood the question."

OMG I have the same problem. My last name is a female first name(spelled differently though) I can't tell you how many times I've gotten e-mail responses. Thanks LastnameChat Icon

LOL this happens to me too. My maiden name is a boys name, so I get mail all the time to last name, first name.
