NPR just so sad
DH grandmother passed away early this morning and I just feel so bad. She was diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas only 6 weeks ago. DH sobbed for hours because he just feels so sad his grandma will not be able to meet our daughter. She slept with a picture of the 3d sono of the baby in her bed, she just kept telling us she would watch over the baby in heaven, she was happy for us. She was at my baby shower two weeks ago and she was so weak but she told me she knew she wouldn't make it to see the baby and she wanted to at least come to the baby shower, I kept promising her she would but I guess she knew. I'm so glad she was able to make it to the shower at least we have those pictures. Just seems so unfair. My heart is just broken for my DH. Its so ironic here we are anxiously awaiting a new life to be born and mourning the passing of another loved one.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am so happy to hear she will be watching over your DD from heaven.
My grandmother passed away before our wedding last year and the day before she died she told me "I'm going to be there, whether you invite me or not!" -- I couldn't imagine what she meant. But after the fact, i took a lot of comfort in it.
It's like they know.

i know what your going through. My dh's grandfather passed away unexpectedly last week, and i was devesated. i knew him for 12 years. but it really broke my heart to see my dh so sad. DD would have been his first great-granddaughter. what helped us take comfort is knowing grandpa will be heaven with his wife and the BOTH of them are now DD's special guardian angels especially grandpa since she will be born with in 3 weeks of his death. here are some more and for both u and dh during this difficult time.
