Baltimore
I'm taking DS to visit Loyola Thurs and Fri. We'll be staying near there and the Inner Harbor. Any recommendations?
We'd like to get a feel for the city so any info would be helpful.

Re: Baltimore
The aquarium, children's museum and hands on science museum are all great for kids. Rusty Skupper is great restaurant and very family friendly right in Inner Harbor.

Re: Baltimore
I grew up in Baltimore, so feel free to FM me for any specific questions. Def. do the stuff in Inner Harbor, the aquarium and science center are amazing. Check out an Oriole game if they are around. The stadium is great, and tickets are affordable. There is also the Babe Ruth museum right next to the stadium. Baltimore is a city of neighborhoods. Fells Point is fun, it's on the water with cobble stone streets, lots of restaurants and shops and pirate ship rides. If your family is into history Ft. McHenry is worth taking the trip. Poe's grave is also there. Another fun thing is to take the water taxi. The water taxi will take you to Ft. Mc Henry all the way around the harbor and to Fells Point. It's like 10.00. Also, if your family is into lacrosse, the Lacrosse Hall of Fame is on the Hopkins campus, which is very close to Loyola. Most of the restaurants in the Harbor are chains. If you want to eat crabs, and of course you do , Obrycki's and Bo Brooks are great. As you can see I can go on, so let me know if you have any specific questions.

Re: Baltimore
Thank you both so much. Meghan, if the visit goes well I will definitely FM you for more info.
I know it's an hour away but we will be visiting Mt. St. Mary's on Saturday. Do you know anything about Emmitsburg?

Re: Baltimore
LOL, no not really. I went to Gettysburg College so it was pretty close though. Very small town, but near Civil War sites and some big firefighter thing. Also near Camp David. And if you are there and haven't seen the battlefields at Gettysburg it's probably only a 30 min. drive.

Re: Baltimore
We're actually staying in Gettysburg because apparently there are no decent hotels in Emmitsburg. DH and my younger DD and the baby will be doing Gettysburg things while the big one and I are at Mt. St. Mary's thing.
Is the Ghosts of Gettysburg tour worth it?

Re: Baltimore
It's cute, they'd probably enjoy it. There are some cool books to buy about the ghosts too. Funnily though I did a ghost tour in Charleston once, and some of the stories were the same. Not sure of the age of your DD, but the Land of Little Horses is nearby too.
