Food/feeding questions 8-9 months olds
DS is on a good eating sched but now he is starting to eat table food. At dinner we share some of what we are eating and as well as on the weekends when we are out. Like fruit or bread etc. When do you start to give just table food as a meal and take away one of the jar foods?
Should i start sendng stuff to day care for him to snack on other then puffs/cheerious and yogurt melts??
DS is 8.5 months old and his sched is: 8am - 7 oz bottle 10am - oatmeal with half fruit jar 12pm - 7 oz bottle 2pm - yogurt or full jar of stage 2 veggies (like squash or green peas) 4pm - 7 oz bottle 6:30pm - dinner (chicken and rice turkey and sweet pot etc. stage 2 food) 8pm - 7 oz bottle)
through out the day he will have cheerios/puffs and bits and pieces of what we are eating.
Do we just stick with that for now? should i send regular veggies to day care for lunch instead of jar? if not when did you start doing that?
He loves regular food and really eats well (no choking or anything so far) he seems to love everything we give him.
TIA!!!!

Re: Food/feeding questions 8-9 months olds
I am in the same boat as you too...I have been giving her tiny pieces when we eat dinner but still give her the regular jar food too. I have a ped appt today(her 9 month check up) so I will see if they say anything today. Daycare provides table food so right now I still have them giving her baby food until she gets the hang of the table food(I did give them puffs so she can practice self-feeding when the other kids are eating their food-she is the youngest in the older infant room). But I have no idea on how much she should be eating if/when she switches to just table food.

Re: Food/feeding questions 8-9 months olds
DD just turned 8 months and for the past couple of weeks I have been adding more and more table food. These are the usual foods.
Breakfast: either I still give her some pureed fruit with oatmeal or I'll give her pancakes, french toast, eggs or a cereal bar (gerber makes them - they're small) and I always give her some cut up fruit. She's had bananas, strawberries, blueberries, peaches and plums all cut up.
Lunch is either pureed food again and some cut up fruit or yogurt, cheese, grilled cheese.
Dinner is either pureed veggie with pastina, meat puree, or some type of pasta or whatever we are eating if it's something like meatballs. She'll also have small cut up veggies too like peas, carrots, corn, etc.
Hope this helps.

This is helpful! How smal do you cut up the pancakes or french toast? i thought they could not have eggs yet? maybe I will start sending him in with some cut up fruit for breakfast.. It sounds like you make your own baby food is that correct?

At first I made the pieces so small but as she's gotten used to it I've been making the pieces a little bigger - probably no bigger than a fingernail. I know it's ok for them to have foods that are made with eggs (like pankcakes) but when cooking eggs they should only have the egg yolk, no whites. I do make my own food but since she started table food so quickly I feel like I barely had to do it.
