painting and a toddler in the house

DH and I wil lbe moving at the end of the month into a new house that needs to be painted from top to bottom. NONE of the walls are currently painted. That said how long do you tihnk I need ot have DS out of the house after painting? We'll never do it all in a day, it will probably take a week or so at a minimum on and off but I realyl can't have himn leave for a week? We wil lbe using regular paint not that new low VOC paint either (I've heard odd things about odors and that paint) so sticking with your basic paint if that makes a difference....

The odd things about odors is the poisonous gasses in the regular paint.

Regular paint off-gasses for up to a year, but the first week is the worst. The very low VOC paint, or zero VOC paint has no poisonous chemicals, so you can paint with DC in the room with you, and not worry about fumes.

By "not painted", do you mean there's no primer on them either, or just not painted the way you want? If you have to prime them first, that adds a lot more time to the process, since it's an extra coat of paint to put on and let dry.

I bought zero VOC paint from BM. We did not have the option to leave the house.

No odor, no gas.

It was $$$$

If you have the house well ventilated while doing the painting fans going and windows open I think it should be fine. I just wouldn't have him sleep in the room that was painted that day.
