Kinda presumptious, but I'm curious
how exactly they figure out due dates?
I know the practice is normally the MD counts 40 weeks from the last AF....
but being that there is now so much more accuracy with temping and OPK's does it change the due date that much??
I didn't O until around CD31-33....that's a long way away from my last AF. Is there anyway to figure this out based on conceive date versus AF date?
Does this make any sense??

Makes perfect sense! Here is a link that allows you to put in the date of conception (when you Oed) rather than the date of you last AF to determine your due date. I don't know if doctors adjust based on your temping and such, but they really should. Some women don't O until Cd 30s or 40s or some even later.

Yes, I think if you know your O date, your doctor will take that into account. I'd say most women don't know for sure. I plugged my info in for this month. Going by LMP, I'd be due 12/23 and going by O date, I'd be due 12/30--so it's a full week difference.

Re: Kinda presumptious, but I'm curious
Because I have very long cycles they couldn't really use that as a marker for my EDD. Instead, because I had an IUI, they used my conception date to calculate my EDD.

Re: Kinda presumptious, but I'm curious
Thanks girls!
I just used that website to see and it really does make a difference
If they base it off of my LMP my EDD would be 12/17/10
But if they base if off of my conceive date ( around 4/10) my EDD would be 1/1/11 - and that would be VERY awesome!!!

Re: Kinda presumptious, but I'm curious
When I was pg with my DD, my doctor used the measurements from my first sono (at 7w) to determine the due date.
My cycles are on the long side so going by my last AF would not have been as accurate.

They usually go by the size of the baby on the ultrasound if the date is way off. If you have a longer cycle and you tell them some drs will take that into account.
