Wanted to share my story and give some hope
This is actually my mother's story, I'm just the result of it.
My mom gave birth to my sister in 1968. After her birth, my mom never began ovulating or menstruating again. I know that she went for some treatments, but I don't know all the details. Anyhow, she was unsuccessful at TTC again. In 1977, she received a phone call from her doctor with an offer of a child to adopt (back then, the adoption process was very different). She and my father decided that at that point, they were content with their family of three. The next year, my mother discovered that she was PG with me! They were not trying, and really had no hope or thought of having another child. In April 1979, I was born.
I don't wish the length of my mother's TTC journey on anyone, but I hope that it gives some people hope, and reminds everyone that sometimes when you least expect it, miracles do happen. My parents always call me their "miracle baby," and as I go through my own TTC journey, I now truly appreciate what this means.

Re: Wanted to share my story and give some hope
Thanks for sharing! I try to remind myself that stories like this prove everything happens for a reason. One of my ex's was his parents "miracle" baby. They adopted and then almost 20 years later had my ex naturally when his mother was in her 40s.
My MIL was going in for an IUI and the morning of she got sick, took a PG test, and found out she was PG with DH. I guess back then things weren't monitored as closely.
