home alone with workers in the house...
Anyone else get uncomfortable being home alone when there are people working on the house? DH wasn't able to get the day off today so I decided to stay home. We have 2 guys here doing electrical work, and while they seem like fine people I still get weirded out being here alone with 2 strange men in my house. They will be working in just about every main room so there is nowhere for me to escape either. Not to mention I know nothing about electrical work and whether or not they are doing what they are supposed to do. Even when they came to the door the guy was like..."oh, your husband's not home?".

My DH will not let them come if he isn't home. It's one of his things.

I work from home so I'm the one always here but it doesn't bother me....I work in construction so I actually like to watch them to see what they are doing

I don't like it. I feel weird like I'm spying what they're doing  But I refuse to let anyone be by themself in my home when no one is there.

I get stuck with this also. I HATE having strangers in my home when DH is not there. I get very nervous b/c you just never know. It wasn't so bad when I had my 80lb american bulldog b/c she was very protective. Makes me miss her alot more these days

I'm always home alone when we have work getting done and i hate it. DH works weird hours it will hard for him to be home when the work is being done. I have two dogs that I usually keep them close to me, not that they can do much one is 8lbs the other one is 30 lbs.

We had this a few times in our co-op....that was hard, because they were working on the only bathroom, and set up in the only main living space...so DD (who was an infant at the time) and I were hanging out in the bedrooms! It was super awkward!

i am the only one that can and will handle with people working on the house. I do not trust DH alone with workers because he sometimes says thing that i wish he didn't.

Same here. So far there has only been 1 time I had to be alone but it was an emergency...
We had people check our roof, paint, do our ceiling, deliveries, clean our vents - all of it either my DH was home or my Dad, Mom and or sister came over...We even had something scheduled for when my in-laws were visiting so I'd have my FIL with me b/c I there was an issue with our bedroom furniture and a tech had to come to the house....
Thankfully we do have a psychotic dog which helps, but I'm not even 100 lbs soaking yet - which makes me feel like if someone were going to try something it would be with me b/c I look like an easy target...I don't even like answering the door when I am home alone but my dog is nuts so I don't worry that much, I know that she'd attack...
