its definitely a stomach bug
poor kid stopped with the explosive poop yesterday (had about 24 hours of it), but since noon yesterday, he's projectile vomiting/fountaining whenever he eats. After he vomited at noon yesterday, he had NO desire to drink again and wouldn't touch solids. He only got about 10 oz all day yesterday and 1 meal of solids (he usually takes 35-40oz and 3 meals of solids.) The solids stayed down.
I spoke with the ped, their advice was "small, frequent meals. its just a stomach virus." I'm trying to keep him to 1oz or so, then letting him swallow and digest a little, then give him more, BUT this morning he woke up soooo happy/acting like himself. He took the bottle himself and drank 5oz straight. He burped, then all of a sudden, he projectiled across my entire bed - probably half of what he just consumed.
As I'm sitting there covered in baby hurl, I had to grab the bottle from him because he shoved it right back in his mouth and tried to drink it! He cried when I took it away.
Poor kid is starving, but he's not digesting properly. He won't touch the pedialyte - he doesn't usually like any kind of juice either.
He didn't have many wet diapers yesterday, but he woke up with a wet diaper today and just wet a 2nd diaper since he's been up.
Called the ped again and was advised the same as yesterday - don't worry unless there's blood in the vomit or stool or if he doesn't have a wet diaper all day.
wwyd my poor sweet boy

Re: its definitely a stomach bug
Maybe mix some pedialyte in with the little amount of formula you are getting.
My son had it last week. It only lasted two days!! Good luck!!

I agree with this....worth a shot. But even if he won't take the Pedialyte (my DD is almost 3 and still won't drink it, she doesn't drink juice either) as long as you can get little bits in him here & there and he's still got wet diapers, he'll be ok...it should hopefully pass quickly!
Hope he's better soon!

DS had this last week and he wouldn't touch the pedialyte either. The pediatrician told me to start him on acidophilus. It's a probiotic. Once a day I had to open 2 capsules and mix it in his food.

Re: its definitely a stomach bug
If he gets thirsty enough, he will drink small amounts of the pedialyte. My DS would/will only drink formula/milk, no juice or water.
When he had the stomach bug at around 1 year old, I gave him pedialyte in the dropper - about a teaspoon at a time, every 15 minutes, per the ped. After a couple of hours of him keeping that down, I gave him 2 oz. to see if he would keep that down. Once I saw he was OK with that, I gave him 4 oz. bottles of pedialyte for the next 24 hours if he was looking for something to drink. Within 48 hours he was back to normal. We also try Gatorade mixed with water - a 50-50 combination. He seems to like that better than the pedialyte sometimes.

Re: its definitely a stomach bug
We are on day 6 of the same thing, it's heartbreaking. HE isn't getting sick as much but, he still is vomiting.
We keep on thinking he's getting better, his disposition has been fairly good (until yesterday, day 5).
The only thing he will keep down is Pedialyte and he is so hungry, he wants more.
