Crown molding up - updates

Well the molding went up yesterday (dental molding with a 7 1/2 inch projection) and man i am so glad we didn't paint - just primed. My BIL has to spackle to fill in since our walls and ceilings are so out and there are spaces and so much shims needed. But it looks amazing! Ugh so he is finishing up on that, dad is working on the covers for the baseboard for me. I am just not that happy with the color its white but not bright white but luckily i will never have white walls and if the base is so off then i may dull down the white to make it seem not so off.

I learned how to do coping but i really can not ever imagine diy any moldings, i just don't have the patience to do the returns like we had to do to end the moldings and do the corners. I learned my husband really can not do anything, and if i ask he does such a horrible job that i have redo it. I have to sand all the areas he painted so i can re-prime them thanks to roller marks.

I got a bunch of the stuff to get these three rooms finished, we are so done after this for at least a year of doing anything major. I am done LoL
OH GOD MAKE THIS END!!! HAHAHA

Wow, that's so funny - it is the same moulding we have in our new home and I admired it's design when we first looked at the house.

I like the design - it is different and really elegant! Gives the room such a pretty finish. I know the moulding process can be tough - my Dad hung it in my parents' house, took him a few weeks, and my FIL did IL's house.

Looks great so far!

Re: Crown molding up - updates

i wanted the std builders molding in the front bedroom like we have in our bedroom but simply can't afford to pay the labor to get it installed. So we figured if it bothers us we will add it in the fall.
