SUFFOLK- just bought a house in Nesconset. I LOVE IT. its so close to literally everything, movies, mall, food stores, gym, LIE northern state. its in a great location while still being in a quiet neighborhood.

Im in smithtown, literally on the border of nesconsett. I grew up in Kings Park, which is part of the town of smithtown. I love the entire area. Its close to everything, great people, FANTASTIC schools, yet still not overcrowded.

I'm originally from N. Massapequa

I like the town but HATE the southern state. I usually drive up to 135 (via 107) to avoid the SSP. if I did buy there, I would want to be as close to 135 as possible.

Another Bellmore girl here (literally on the boarder of N. Bellmore and Bellmore). We love it. It's convenient to the parkways, shopping, etc. I live between the Wantagh, Meadowbrook, Southern State, and Sunrise Highway.

HIEEEEEEEE! I'm right next to the SSP!

I've been noticing lately that there are a lot of Bellmore gals on here. We should have a GTG!

Another North Bellmore girl here!!!

Re: What town do you live in?

We are way out east- Hampton Bays. I love it, the beaches and small town feel (I grew up in the suburbs of a pretty major city), but jobs are limited. I have a teaching job further out east and DH works one town over, but my commute is still 30 minutes.

Re: What town do you live in?

Hauppauge, Suffolk Co.

Love it here. I grew up in Hauppauge and DH knew from day 1 that I wanted to buy a house in Hauppauge again. The district is very small and I loved going to school in a small district and wanted the same for my kids. Taxes are super low, thanks to the industrial park and houses keep their value when the market is down, thanks to the low taxes.
Its also very close to my step-sons who are in St. James.

Suffolk County - Sayville.

I love it. It has everything I wanted in a town.

It has a good school district that is small enough for one on one teacher interaction - but big enough that they have a ton of programs and opportunities for kids with all different interests and talents. And they take the time to understand the children. I love that the administrators know the kids - the troublemakers, the good kids and everyone in between. They get involved and try to help them really find their passions.

It not only has a living Main Street.. it has a THRIVING Main Street. It's fun to just wander through town and pop in and see friendly faces. And after a day of shopping - there are restaurants to suit any palate there - 21 Main for a high end steak house experience, Crickets for a more casual dining experience, Cafe Joelle for intimate, romantic meals, Sayville Inn for a great burger, Portly Villager for giant sandwiches and a beer, La Tavola for killer Italian, Aegean for good Greek - and more.

It's family oriented. There are a ton of activities for families - Family Fun Fridays, Outdoor Movie Nights, Yoga in the park. And fesitvals - Seafood Fest, BBQ and Bake-Off, Harvest Festival, SummerFest, Pirate Festival, Boat Burning, Pajama Day and Bed Race, etc..

Most people are proud to live here and it shows in the way they keep their homes and their yards. People like to say hi and you always seem to bump into a friendly face when you are out and about.

No matter where you live in Sayville you aren't too far from the Bay - and you can always hop a ferry over to Fire Island if you crave the ocean.

I love it here and there aren't too many other places on Long Island that I'd rather be.

me too and ITA!!

We just bought our first house in Islip. I never even knew regular Islip existed, only thought there was east, west, central, and terrace. I feel like we found a real gem in Islip, its small, has a great main street, and close to sunrise hwy and southern state.

Wantagh....love this area. It is close to so many things. Parkways, shopping, restaurants and there are a lot of nice families in this area.

I grew up in wantagh (levittown schools) literally on the border of N Bellmore.....when you look out one window the houses you see are N. Bellmore.

Now we just bought in Wantagh, Levittown schools -- off Wantagh Ave, just north of the southern State.

I live in Sayville as well and agree with all that is stated above. We've only been here 6 months, but I love it. We got the warmest welcome from our neighbors and find when we walk the dogs down to Main Street and sit outside Starbucks, 90% of people will stop and chat.

Re: What town do you live in?

I live in Levittown and love it here. I lived here for more than 25 years since I was 5 years old. I lived by the library then Island Trees (on the Levittown School District line) and now live off of Newbridge Rd. Everywhere I lived I love the neighbors. They would bend over backwards for you. The schools are excellent. Everything is less than 10 mins away so you don't have to worry about driving far. The housing is very cheap now here so you can find alot for your money. Good luck hunting!!

Mineola now but I lived in New Hyde Park most of my life until marriage. Mineola is convenient to all highways, public transportation, and shopping. My neighbors are friendly and my block is pretty quiet. About 6 or 7 young families on the block.

We hope to move to East Williston, a few blocks away, (school disctrict is awesome) in about 9-10 years.
