Anyone register at both BBB and BRU?

I'm not ready to register yet decided to stress myself out a little early. I think we have to register at both Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us b/c there is no BBB where my inlaws live and my MIL already said something. So if you registered at both, how did you decide what to register for where? TIA!

I did the majority of the registry on BRU simply because of convenience for others. The things I registered for at BBB were specfic things I wanted that weren't available at BRU (i.e stroller, matress, sling). That being said my BBB list is very short.

Yes, I registered at both. BBB was the only one that had my stroller and bedding, so that was easy. I duplicated a lot and when I saw something purchased, I deleted it off my other registry. This only works if you are as committed to stalking as I am! Chat Icon

If not, I would say divide up the high price items and low price items.

I started off at BRU. Then realized somethings were cheaper at BBB and edited both registries online. My BRU was also larger then my BBB.

I registered at both. Certain things are only available at BBB (like my stroller etc), so that's where I put them.

As for other items, I tried to put the more expensive items on the BBB registry since they accept 20% off coupons so people can save a lot that way.

BRU is more accessible for everyone though, so the majority of our items are on that registry.

I"ve started to register at BRU because everyone has one near them. But I'm still going to add some things to BBB since they have specific items I want. Also...alot of things at BRU are only available online..and I know alot of my older relatives have NO IDEA how to buy things online.

I'm in the process of regestiring now and this is how it's working out for me too.

Re: Anyone register at both BBB and BRU?

We split ours between the 2 simply because each place had some things we wanted that the other place didn't have. The way we decided for the rest of our registry is we would look up the item online at both stores and whichever one carried it cheaper, we registered for it there. Or, if something was out of stock at one store, we registered for it at the other one, that kind of thing. After checking a few things out in the store, we actually did the entire registry online, which I definitely recommend- WAY easier!!

Re: Anyone register at both BBB and BRU?

I did both, mostly BRU. Some of my items were only at BBB (stroller, infant carrier, etc.). My BBB registry was pretty small. A few items I listed on both registries - the bigger items that I definitely wanted - and just monitored closely so that if the item was bought on one registry, I deleted from the other. I got almost everything so I think this was a good strategy and that way BBB still had good options for people who chose to go there instead of BRU.
