Re: FF Settings for Crosshairs??

i think it depends on what method you use (for example TCOYF is the FAM method: fertility awareness method)
This is from the fertility friend course lessons:

FertilityFriend.com has a flexible system for interpreting the fertility chart based on the data you enter and the pattern of your chart. You can choose among 4 different methods to calculate ovulation.

Advanced Detector: The default and recommended ovulation detector is the "Advanced detector". There is generally no need to choose any other interpretation method. The advanced ovulation detector is a refined and flexible fertility awareness method that detects most ovulation patterns, even ones that are not ideal. It has been fine-tuned to recognize a variety of ovulation patterns and take all signs into account simultaneously.

Research Detector: This detector includes new patterns and improvements as we find them. With time and testing, we roll new findings into the advanced detector when appropriate. You should use this detector only if you wish to check for enhancements that are not yet rolled into the advanced detector.

Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) Detector: Based on the Fertility Awareness rules developed in the 1960s, this detector detects ovulation once three temperatures greater than 0.2-0.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 0.2 degrees Celsius above the previous six are recorded. Ovulation is detected for the day before the temperature rise and a coverline is drawn at 0.1 degree above the highest of those six pre-ovulation temperature points. This detector is best suited to those with regular chart patterns who are already familiar with this method.

OPK/Monitor Detector: This detector relies solely on your Ovulation Predictor Kit (OPK) or fertility monitor data to determine ovulation. It is recommended for people who are not monitoring temperatures or when temperatures are not offering a reliable pattern.

You can change your interpretation method on FertilityFriend.com using the menu Analysis/Tuning for the current chart and the menu Settings/Charting options for future charts.\

hope this helps :O)

Re: FF Settings for Crosshairs??

Thank you for that information MrsC614
Chat Icon I just dont know what to do that Im going nuts. I am thinking I O'd on CD 23 because my nipples got sore on CD 24 and last month my nipples got sore the day after ovuation.

Under Fertility Awareness (FAM): I am 3 DPO

Under Research: I am 6 DPO (which I dont think I am b/c my nipples didnt get sore until cd 24)

Do you guys think I should leave it on FAM or is the advanced setting more accurate?

Re: FF Settings for Crosshairs??

what does it say on advanced?

I think they recommend advanced, because it's still the FAM method, just with finer tuning.
for really accurate fam method, i think you would have to keep close eye on CM and cervical position.

I think you O'd cd23. it makes sense. i really don't think it was cd20 because you had + opk's after that.

It says this on advanced:

Note: You have recorded a first OPK positive on Cycle Day (CD) 19.
You may have ovulated between CD 19 and CD 23. [Click Here] for more info.
If you wish to use your OPK as your primary fertility sign, [Click Here] to switch your ovulation detector to the OPK/Monitor detector.

LH surge info:

#

This estrogen surge signals the release of LH (Luteinizing Hormone). This is the hormone that is measured by ovulation predictor kits (OPKs). LH travels through the bloodstream to the ovary where it causes the ovary to release enzymes that make a hole in the sac of the dominant follicle. This causes the dominant follicle to rupture and release the ovum into the fallopian tube where it can be fertilized. This is ovulation. The LH surge is necessary for ovulation to occur. The LH surge (the highest concentration of LH) occurs 12-24 hours prior to ovulation but LH begins to rise about 36 hours before ovulation.

you had about 3 days of +OPK.........then figure O'd 24 hour after, roughly. Brings you to CD23

look at this chart on wikipedia: see how the estrogen and LH drop significantly right before you O? this is why you wouldn't get a + opk AFTER you O.
