I seriously Suck at being a Mother

First last week I screwed up and gave the twins too much vitamins for days and now I have been sick with a bad cold for a while and Noah has it too and OF COURSE I wasnt good enough at keeping it from the babies and they both are sneezing and very congested today..

So I try to soothe Chloe and put some Vicks baby Vapor rub on her...and DH says is that safe?

So I google it and sure enough it says not to use on babies under 3 months old...I look at the label and it says it right ON THERE.

Why dont I READ

So it says online it can irritate and swell their airways....

So now Im freaking out and really feel like I'm just unfit for this...

I dont know if I should call the Ped or just watch her and not over react.

I am sorry you feel this way, you are overwhelmed, not a sucky mother....

don't be so hard on yourself

ONE application is not going to hurt her

we ALL make mistakes....you are overwhelmed, overtired & it's a LOT to handle.

Awww I'm sure she is fine - isn't this Vicks thing a new thing that just came out - b/f that I think people were using it with no problems at all.

You are NOT a bad mother at all - you are taking care of THREE children all very young - you are doing a GREAT job! I couldn't do it!

Take a deep breath. Maybe you should try to wipe off the Vicks or give Chloe a warm bath to get it off of her. You are doing the best you can, just gave birth to twins a few short weeks ago, and are battling a cold, so give yourself a break. You do not suck at being a mother- you are exhausted and stressed out! Take it slow, ask DH for help and try and relax.

You are an awesome mother.
You're overwhelmed and I am sure exhausted.
To ease your mind, call the ped.
You'll feel MUCH better.

Try to relax you are extremely overwhelmed right now I know how you feel I was like that the first few weeks with the triplets. Its alot to handle but you will be fine....just take a step back and breathe....FM me if you need to chat ever.

99% of us on here are NOT in your situation and would struggle so much if we had 3 under 3. You dont suck at all. Its tough! Not to mention figuring out what was wrong with chloe was a task in itself. Most people are overwhelmed with one. Give yourself a break...I literally mean that. Can someone help you out some. You dont have to be superwoman. Let others help you. Also, call the pediatrician and ask what they think...I am sure its fine.

You don't suck...look at all you have going on!! If it will make you feel better call the ped...i'm sure they'll say no big deal!! Taking care of 1 is hard enough...you have 3!!

Oh I so remember feeling this way-hey each kid and each experience is something we learn and grow from. We are human no one is perfect and to be honest we survived our parents and what did they know back then? There were not as many studies... and we are all fine-heck we probably had grandparents bathe us in vapo rub as infants if they heard a slight wheeze which is normal for infants-LOL but like I said they didn't know and home remedies were the thing... and now we learn some of these things are dangerous... sometimes too much info is what stresses us-don't worry you are not a bad mother you are doing what you believe is best. I don't think one application will be the worst for a child -if it really bothers you call a ped.
Don't be so hard on yourself we have all done things we look back at and say what was I thinking but we learn-kids do not come with instructions Good luck and feel better!

you soooo dont suck! you're a great mom who loves her kids and does everything she can to make them feel better. sh*t happens- it builds personality!

I did wipe it off her and I researched a bit more and the study was the regular vicks with menthol and camphor that caused issues, and while there is a over 3 mnth warning on the baby rub, I'm just gonna try to trust she will be fine and try to get some sleep.

I just feel like I keep messing up
