Housewarming Party

DH and I are finally getting around to throwing a housewarming party!! We are going to serve appetizers and drinks so I need some suggestions!

What is your favorite appetizer? I need some ideas on what everyone else like! BTW I am making sangria if that makes any difference.

Re: Housewarming Party

BJ's (if you're a member) usually has great stuff in the frozen section.
I happen to LOVE the "Nancy's Party Spirals". There like mini sprial cold-cut sandwiches.
I always get so many raves about them too and you get a lot in the box.
You just have to thaw them out and serve!

ETA: this is what they look like....they're in a blue box.

My staples are usually the following:

pigs in a blanket
mini quiches
anything in puff pastry (spinach puffs, mushroom puffs, potato cheese puffs)
mexican 7 layered dip
spinach dip in a bread bowl
cheese/crackers
hummus/pita
crudite/dip

BJ's and other supermarkets have good frozen appetizers that you can choose from as well

Re: Housewarming Party

my dad makes this one thats amazing- it uses hellmans mayo, grated cheese, very finely chopped onion and those little party ryes

you toast the party ryes & then put a little bit of the mayo concoction on the toasted rye and toast just so it gets a little brown- so delish- we make them for every party we have and everyone always loves them

Re: Housewarming Party

If we're talking frozen, it's pigs in the blanket and potato puffs. Oh, and mozzarella sticks.

If we're talking homemade, it's my sisters stuffed mushrooms, chili cheese dip and fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers on baguettes!

I cut the stem out of the mushrooms and chop it very finely, use about half of the mushrooms stems. Then I chop half of a small onion, chop 2 cloves of garlic, fry in a pan for about 5 min with grated cheese EVOO & 2 tbspn worscheshire sauce. Then mix in about 1/2 cup of bread crumbs. Then fill mushroom caps with stuffing and bake at 3:50 for about 20-30 min, then broil for about 2-3 min.
The measurements arn't exact, so you kinda have to see how many mushrooms to stuffing you have, but thats basically it.

Yummy - for another twist on this add reduce the breadcrumbs and some crabmeat
