anyone else having pp body image issues ?

i always had some body image issues prior to becoming pregnant but had finally got to my ideal weight and look and then found out i was pregnant. i didnt gain all that much during my pregnancy and quickly lost the weight, according to the scale and am back to the weight i was prior to losing the 20lbs before pregnancy ... but the weight has been redistributed to other areas. and im having a really hard time dealing with my new body. Im trying to diet and get back to all the exercise..but how do you ladies deal with yournew body, have you embraced it or are you like me and avoid every mirror in sight?

I didn't lose all the weight after Jack because I knew I wanted to be pregnant again. That being said, I have been a size 2/4 my entire life - and being bigger than that was really really hard to deal with.

I hated everything I wore and was just unhappy with myself in general.

After I pop this baby out I am def. getting back to my pre-preggo size.

Your DD is still young so don't stress too much. It took 9 months to put the weight on - it will take awhile to get back to where you are really happy with yourself!

I try not to look in the mirror unless I am dressed... I lost all my baby weight plus an extra 15 lbs but these kids stretched the hell out of me I am going to need a tummy tuck to get rid of my fat flap thats hanging I feel like it is down to my knees.....

I am completely miserable about it 1 yr PP. I too, have always been @ a size 4. Right before I got pregnant, I was a size 0 and 117lbs. I went into the hospital to give birth at 183lbs. I left weighing 164, got all the way down to 145 and now I am back up to 160 I HATE myself like this. It is not ME - I just feel uncomfortable in my own skin. However, we are possibly considering another child and I wont kill myself to loose the weight before we make a final decision. I do emapthize with you about the body image issues

I feel the same Throughout my 20's I was barely a size 1...After years of infertility treatments I gained a ton of weight...After having my DS I finallty after dieting got back down to a 4 and was happy with that....Went back on the IF meds, shot right back up in weight and then got pg. w/ my DD and the rest is history ...Dieting again , but since we are on the fence about # 3 I haven't really put my heart into it ( even though its no excuse)...I also eventually may have something cosmetic done, but again don't want to go down that road until we are officially done

I had DS#4 7/08 and DS#5 7/09 and the mirror is not my friend these days Guess that's what I get with back to back pregnancies. Don't worry it takes time but after your body adjusts it does bounce back. In my case though having so many I'm not so sure it will do it on it's own.

I am 8 weeks pp and im still disgusted with myself. I lost 45 pounds but still have an extra 10 to lose. I had just lost 15 pounds before i found out if was pregnant and looked great. DH says i look great now but all the streatchmarks and the hanging belly, im wondering if it will ever go away, even my butt is a little bigger than before i got pregnant.
I love DD and it was so worth having her but I want to look like what i did before i got pregnant

aww thanks for posting ladies it really nice to know im not alone. i treasure DD and am so greatful for her and owuldnt change a thing Except my body of course!

uummm yeah right about now Im hating myself!
dd oh so worth it but really hard for me right now...I dont own a scale gave it up years ago so Im in the dark...just know I cant stand how I look...I gained 15-20lbs when I went off the pill then approx 50lbs prego so

I am definitely having issues. I was always a 2/4 and then got pregnant. I gained 26 lbs. which isn't a lot, but still significant. I've lost all but a couple of pounds, but my clothes just don't fit the same. I have a pouch on my stomach and my upper arms seem flabby. I was always very spoiled, not having to do anything to stay thin and now this is definitely NOT the case. I try to go to the gym, but I just don't have a lot of time. I miss my old body but I love DS so the trade-off was worth it.

I am absolutely miserable.... I was overweight before getting pregnant.... I didn't gain that much at all while pregnant, and I lost that, but now I need to lose what I never did with my DD 7 years ago. I am trying to cut out the carbs, but I haven't been able to exercise much with Ryan being as colicky as he is, and wanting to be held all the time. I really hate the way I look right now, but I also don't want every conversation that goes on in my house about dieting because then my DD starts looking at herself in the mirror and I would hate for her to start with body image already.
