Anyone elses DC take a long nap right after waking up?

My 8 week DD usually gets up for the day around 7 a.m. She usually stays awake for about an hour to eat and socialize, and then usually goes down for a nap around 8. She will sleep for like another 3-4 hours! For the rest of the day she usually takes shorter 30-45 minute naps. Is this normal to take a nap so close to waking up or does it mean that maybe she isn't getting sound sleep at night?

My DD goes down for a nap exactly 2hrs. after she wakes up in the morning and sleeps anywhere from 2 to over 3 hrs. She is almost a year old and has been doing this since at least 6 months old if not younger.

At 8 weeks old they are just so tired, they are doing so much growing so your DC's sleeping schedule sounds normal to me.

Yup, DS goes down for a nap 1.5 to 2 hours after waking up. He usually sleeps for about 1.5 to 2 hours. At 8 weeks he slept alot longer. Probably more like 3 hours.

Yup. Yael wakes up usually around 7am. She's up for an hour, then back asleep for 3 hours. Then up for an hour, and back asleep for 2-3 hours, and then for the rest of the day she takes little cat naps until bedtime.
