How much $$ do you send if you RSVP "No" to a wedding?
Not a family member or someone you know well.
ie, someone my DH works with (who we don't socialize with), my BIL (DH's sisters husbands) niece from his side of the family.
Or do you not feel obliged to send anything?
Just curious what others do...

Based on how you describe the relationship, I wouldn't feel obligated to send something.
eta...if DH wants to do something because he works with them, I would send something off the registry.

I was always taught that it was proper etiquette to send a gift if you are invited to a party and can't attend. I don't think you need to send money or give as much as you would give if you could attend, but I would at least send something that you can afford to from their registry. A picture frame or something like that would be nice if their registry is empty.

i agree. i would send either $50 or $100 depending on how close i was with them--probably $100

We are RSVPing no to a wedding for someone who moved away 3 years ago from LI that we are no longer close to. We decided on $75

We send a small gift from their registry or something similar if their registry is bought out.
Most people who RSVPd "no" to our wedding didn't send us gifts but I feel that you should at least send something. The amount you spend can depend on how close you are to the couple.
