GROSS!!!!!
you should have told him to pee on the floor, pour soap on it and them spread the mop around. maybe he would have been able to understand the grossness better!

I've never heard of it and would prob never do it but toilet water is supposed to be clean; I still couldn't imagine doing it in any room other than maybe the bathroom itself. I can't see anyone carrying a dripping wet mop over carpeted areas just to get to the floors that need to be mopped. It seems like so much more work; much easier to just move the bucket around with you as you move from area to area.

I've never heard of that before but I wouldn't have went back to him and told him everyone on LIF thinks he's gross. You probably embarrassed the poor guy (and insulted his mother).

I also like how it was a mess he had to clean up yet he expected you to go soap up the toilet. If you do that much you might as well do the mopping.

Even I think thats kinda gross, and i'm not usually so fussy about things like that!
That water is the same water as any water that comes out of the faucet, so theoretically if the toilet bowl is clean, it should be the same as if you were dunking it in a bucket of water.
However.. i've never heard of anyone doing this and i think just the mental images that go along with it are enough to stop anyone!

omg...thats gross!!!
I don't even like using a regular mop head or sponge because I skeeve the idea of whats breeding in there after the fact. To me you just can't clean them enough, they always start to looking nasty & scumy.
Instead, I mop with a rag that I throw in the laundry every week or that I let soak in a bucket of bleach for a few hours after I use it.

I can't tell you how gross the underside lip of my toilet gets...I have to scrub the toilet sometimes twice a week because I'm so grossed out. There's no way I'm using that water for cleaning.
