Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
it depends on your taste and the availability of what matches your furniture.
Our crib actually has an attached changing table!

Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
I like the idea of a separate changing table. This is what we have for dc now. The changing table doesn't take away from the space on the dresser, and you can add a lamp, etc to the dresser if you'd like.
If you say space is not an issue, then I would definitely get the separates.

i love our separate changing table because it's like having a second dresser, 3 more drawers for storage.

Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
If space is not an issue then I would find the furniture set that I like and allow that to help me make my decision. I have limited space so a combo dresser/changer was necessary for me.

Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
Even though we had the space to do separate, the set we picked out had a changing table on top of the dresser. I think it is very convient this way.

Ditto mine has a shelf with 3 baskets and 2 good sized drawers. I store sheets, towels, burp clothes etc in them.

Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
Space wasn't too much of an issue for us but I like the idea of an open room with as little furniture as possible so we opted for a BIG glider and dresser with changing pad on top. My logic was that I will NOT always walk to her nursery to change her so it wouldn't be put to all that much use.
Her Pack n Play will always be set up and it was a changer spot as well.

Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
Space wasnt an issue for us at all, but for some reason, i just didn't want a changing table. I didn't want to fill her room up with alot of furniture and especially with more pieces that will only be used for such a short amount of time. Also, we have a 2 floor house and i'm not going to go upstairs everytime i need to change her.
We have a PNP downstairs that has a changing station, a PNP in our Master BR (where she'll be sleeping for the first couple of months) that also has a changing station and i have the whole diaper changing materials set up next to it... i just didn't see the point in the changing table for us.

We did a dresser that is utilized as a changing table in the beginning. I feel that you will get the most use out of the piece this way

Re: Separate changing table or dresser/changing combo
Space isn't an issue for us at all but we went with the dresser changing table - this one from PBK. What I like about it is the convenience - everything is there - he needs a clothing change b/c he is wet, or in the morning i just reach down and open the drawer - I also have all the supplies I need in the bottom right hutch and in the drawer to the right. Also there is the top part on the right where we keep his lamp, some stuffed animals and a basket with diapers and other changing table essentials - its a lot bigger area than it looks, anyway I LOVE IT!
ETA: What I should add is that I have already been using it for over a year with DS - this will be DC #2's nursery furniture as well... Image Attachment(s):

Same I love it! I just never liked the combo. Ours was $140 so I will use it for my kids and have no issues then donating or giving it away. At 18 months I have used it every day since DS was born!
