Why not take away the whistle? I don't think spanking was the way to deal with that.

Kate is a beyotch- we all know that.
However, people need to understand that spanking is acceptable at times- sometimes Parents' have to do it. Abuse, NO def not but discipline- I am all for it. Geez, if people followed around my Italian father and Cuban mother all day when they were rasing us, they really would have thought it was child abuse. LOL. Seriously though- the public needs to stop scruitinizing this woman. It must be INSANE trying to raise 8 kids.

ITA!!! Spanking her child is not a big deal. She was misbehaving..Kate wasn't abusing her!!!!!  I trust me...im no fan of Kate!!

That's the first thing I thought of as well. From what I recall, they had a very long driveway... that's scary if they can take pictures that well without technically tresspassing. I'd be planting a lot of trees and making my kids play in the backyard instead of in the driveway from now on.

I don't know what the big deal is - she spanked her daugher on the butt so what.
I mean if we continue to see pictures of her constantly spanking her children in public then perhaps it would be a bigger deal - but this is just one occasion that its been photographed - at least the first ive seen.
I think their tv time is up - they made their publicity, money and now its time for them to go and live life with their children like "normal people". The media is getting too overbearing and i think it is really harmful to the kids and family now.

JMHO.. I don't think spanking her child makes her (or any mom) any less sophisticated.
Though I don't agree with everything she does... I think she is a pretty good mom.
