hospital tours with DH

Is anyone else's DH giving them a hard time about attending the hospital tour?

We have ours tonight & DH doesn't see the point of going. He thinks it is just a waste of time roaming around the hospital even though I have tried time & time again to explain to him, even though we know the hospital, we will be informed of their procedures upon arrival at L&D. Of course he is coming tonight, but he is kicking & screaming

I haven't even told my dh yet that we're going to have to do one eventually! I guess I better get crackin' on that lol

We went last week.........DH complained the entire time we were there....... I should have went by myself........LOL

DH complains about all classes. He knows we have to do a mandatory c-section class, but I haven't told him about the hospital tour.

Actually, the hospital tour the only pregnancy related thing we are doing.

We decided not to go to the free classes offered at the hospital, take lamaze, or the breastfeeding classes.

Neither one of us has been to the maternity ward at Huntington Hospital, so it's a whole new experience for us.

He wants to know where to take me when I go into labor...where to park, where to sign me in, where he gets to wait, what the visiting hours are, etc.

Delivering ME to the hospital is his biggest responsibility that day....while I'm left the measly task of delivering our first child once I get there!

I'm sorry he's giving you a hard time - but at least he's going.

When I mentioned it to my DH, it was in a matter of fact way, as in, we are doing this on this day. No complaints yet.

We're doing 2 or 3 hospital tours because we get to pick our top two choices but if someone else in the practice is already in labor, we have to go whereever they are. I imagine he'll start complaining for tour #2.

I had the opposite reaction with DH about the tour. I had to bribe him about the birthing class that we get to do a tour of the hospital on top of that. He was happy about that not the class.

DH was actually the one that wanted to do the tour and is very excited about it! He's already stressing out about making "dry runs" to the hospital to time the distance and stuff.

Sorry your DH is being a jerk about it!

Thanks for the support ladies This is the ONE pregnancy thing we are doing together also. We are not taking lamaze classes bc of our schedules & feel it is a waste of $$. I keep telling DH, he is going to be the nervous one the day I am in labor! We shall see how excited he is tonight!

Surprisingly DH is up to go to all of these, but is annoying me in other ways
