in laws ( is just MIL)....maybe $25
My Mom- Usually helps pay for the party plus gift...I'd say $200. but I expect that to decrease as he gets older too.

both sides no more than $50. We both come from large families that are more frugal, the focus isn't on the gift but on the celebration with the family.

She has 4 sets of grandparents and they each spend about $50.
My parents' other grandchildren get a lot more because they live in the same state. Kind of irritates me but oh well.

My parents have an account for my kids, so they deposit a very very generous amount for birthdays (holidays too)
My inlaws..lets just say my house looks like toys r us after every birthday (holidays too) It's actually overwhelming and as much as I am very appreciative of the generousity,,it's just too much

My parents are incredibly generous. I don't know how much they spend....
My MIL usually spends between $50-$100 (I know b/c I pick out the gifts)
SMIL spends a lot too...I'd say upwards of $100

Emerson hasn't had a bday yet however.......if every holiday since her birth in Sept. is any indication then she'll get nothing as usual. My parents on the other hand spoil her rotten!

My IL's give them A LOT for there b-day's, they even offer to pay for 1/2 the party's. My parents give wonderful gifts too!

My parents usually get one gift and a little $ for her bank account. MIL usually buys a couple of gifts. They each probably spend about $1-$200.

Sabrina is only two y.o. but for her birthday last year they gave her a bond for a nice amount and this year they paid for a Spring and Summer classes of Gymboree.
IL's live in Poland and send small gifts but spend a lot on postage

my parents...bought DS a swingset from Creative Playthings for his 2nd birthday which was $$$.
My IL's bought DS an outfit.
But circumstances are very different.

I don't have in laws but my Mother usually gives my kids $50 for their birthdays or Christmas. She does the same with my brother's kids. I have zero complaints, I think it's generous of her. Everyone's circumstances are different.

My lord. My IL's spend $500 on each of my kids. It's absolutely insane. My mother does not have much money at all. I wish she didn't spend anything on the kids b/c they have enough but her minit is $50. My father $75.

My parents are pretty generous. They will buy DD gifts (toys etc) then deposit a nice chunk into the savings account they opened for her. They have also bought her stock in Disney. My ILs usually send a check between $100-150 which also goes into DDs saving account.

For their 1st birthday my parents brought the "bigger" car seats which came to about $575
My inlaws generously are paying for the party, they set aside a $1,000 and whatever is left over they are giving to the girls.
