vent: car alarms....
I live close to a large municipal parking lot.... frequently a car alarm will go off for about a min in the lot... totally understandable.... BUT
there is one car in the lot (likely a neighbor, becuase it's ALWAYS here) that goes off quite frequently... it's one of those alarms linked into the horn.... Starting at about midnight, the @#$@#$# thing literally went off over 20 times... including over 10 times between 2-3:30am The car was within earshot of around 30 apartments/condos.... it prevented me from sleeping 1/2 the night, and even woke-up my baby.
I'll be honest, I called the cops at about 230, after being serenaded for 20 min straight. Mysteriously, at 3:30am, I heard the owner FINALLY going to their car and driving off. seriously, you're a local, why won't this person SHUT THE ALARM OFF w/o having to get the cops involved??!!! how stunningly rude....

They can... If the vehcile is registered to a nearby address, they can go to that address and wake up the owner...
That's what I do when I'm on patrol...
Unfortunately if the address registered is out of town or state, then they just get a summons...

Re: vent: car alarms....
That is annoying. Do you know which car it is exactly. Maybe you can put a note on their car so they can have it fixed?
ETA: Anyone else find having a car alarm completely pointless these days?
