Ugh I feel bad (Christening related)
I just have ZERO desire to do anything to plan or prepare for this. DD will be christened 6/7 and I have not even wrote out a guest list.
We are just going to do a small thing in my parent's back yard but I know it is going to wind up turning into a bigger thing than I really want.
We havent even asked the godparents yet.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the pressure of both our families, I would probably just not even do it, or do it and not have a party.
Anyone else slack with this!?

Re: Ugh I feel bad (Christening related)
My DD wasn't Christened till she was almost 10 months. I didn't want to Christen her at all but I couldn't take the almost daily phone calls from my FIL complaining about it,who by the way, didn't even give her a card or gift.
I had a very tiny brunch afterwards and that was it!

Re: Ugh I feel bad (Christening related)
I was the same way. I honestly think people make too big of an ordeal out of it. We had about 12 people come to the church and 75 people come to my MIL's house afterward. So much for celebrating the meaning of the day, huh?
We didn't make a big thing of it at all. We were obligated to invite a huge amount of people since we live out of state, and everyone wanted to meet the baby. But we had heroes and no alcohol. Just mingling mostly

Yup, this is us too. DH and I aren't even religious and are both from different religious backgrounds. I still have to call the church to find out when we are going to do it. We want to just have the backyard thing and family over only.
