Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

Totally unecessary IMO.

First I hate the idea of having to have 2 diaper bags to keep track of and make sure they are stocked. Second I am with DS 99% of the time when DH goes out so we dont really need 2, and we chose a gender neutral diaper bad as I figured it would get messy and covered in formula, snacks etc (and I was right)

Someone gave us a diaper bag backpack for DH and I returned it.

DH and I both have diaper bags in each car. Both of them are black and very simple.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

I have a diaper bag we received three for our shower (one more feminine than the others) I use the plain black one ~ it is a great size not to small and not two big. So if DH needed to use he wouldnt feel so feminine! If he had his own he would not have used it!

I have a Coach diaper bag that is black with white and blue trim. DH hasn't minded carrying that, but the only time he's taken her anywhere alone was when I was away at a girls' weekend. I wouldn't have bought him his own bag for the one or two times he'd use it.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

I don't think so - DH is with me 95% of the time and when he usually watches DD, he usually stays home.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

My every day diaper bag is actually pretty gender neutral.

But, I didn't bother getting DH a separate one. DS is now 9 months old and has never taken him anywhere alone.

And when we go out together he just carries whatever I tell him to (whether its the baby or our crap) Chat Icon

Honestly, my DH has never had an issue carrying my diaper bag - he thinks of it as DD's bag not his or mine - so he doesn't care what it looks like. If I'm not with him he simply puts it on the stroller or under it. Otherwise, he will carry mine if I am carrying DD or walking holding her hand. I really don't think they are necessary.

not buying dh one...

he will just have to carry whatever i pick out...

plus- the hospital gives the free enfamil diaper bag- which is black- so dh can use that if he wants when taking the baby out on his own

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

We registered for and got a bag for DH because I'm sure there will be times that he is going to take the baby out w/o me and there is no way he could carry my pocket book looking diaper bag. Plus, I like his too so I wouldn't mind carrying that one too.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

DH got a backpack one. DS is 3 months and DH hasn't used it yet. I don't think he'll use the backpack unless he goes out with DS by himself. I'm not sure how often that will happen.

I bought my DH a black backpack and have what I have in mine in his too. He can take it whenever he needs it.

There is a pretty cool website for daddy stuff.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

even when DH goes out alone with DS he uses my diaper bag. to have 2 totally different ones would make us insane to pack. he could care less that it's "girly". he doesn't give it a second thought.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

We didn't get one. I just chose a bag that was gender neutral. Packing up the diaper bag is a pain as it is, I'd hate to have to do it twice as much!

We registered for a diaper bag for DH because I too chose a Vera Bradley diaper bag. Also, DH will be home with the baby 2-3 days per week and he wanted his own bag. I was totally fine with that. We haven't put our plan into effect yet obviously, but we plan on stocking both diaper bags with the necessities. It seems that this plan will work best for our schedules.

We are doing the same exact thing! Dh will be with the baby 3-4 days a week. I too, got a Vera Bradley bag. I also know that my SIL goes nuts when her DH uses her bag b/c he never puts everything back in the bag or restocks it and it is a mess when she goes to use it. This way we both use what we want in our own bags.

My Dh never had an issue carrying the diaper bag we had. It usually hangs on the stroller. He was just happy I would have it stocked with whatever he needed if he was with the kids alone Chat Icon

we did register for a plain, black diaper bag for Dave. There will be times when he's watching Emma and i get a feeling that he won't be wanting to drag out a large Coach diaper bag.

I have a black VB bag & we also have a black backpack diaperbag. We both use both bags interchangeably depending on where we are going & what we will be doing that day. It also depnds if we will be together or not.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

When we registered, my DH picked out the Diaper Bag. It is like a small backpack, baige with an orange trim. If that's what makes him happy - I am fine with that.

I will use DH's or the similac one we received from the doctors office and I also received another really nice black one at my shower.

Re: Are DH diaper bags necessary?

My SIL purchase a Vera Bradley bag for me, but I will be registering for a standard black or brown one that DH can use if he doesn't want to use the Vera Bradley one. But I don't anticipate him truly caring.

I bought DH a North Face backpack and threw a changing pad, and all of the essentials in it -
I know my husband and he will NOT carry a regula diaper bag - "Manly" or not -

i didn't either - i have a few 'coupons' to get one from the hospital - but that's it.

i did get a changing pad from the OB though - it came in a bag with all kinds of vitamin samples, etc.
