WWYD - Help Me Decide - UPDATE

OK - this is going to sound pretty stupid, but I'm a guy, and am stubborn.

Tonight is my department's annual holiday party in NJ (Hackensack). My boss has it at his house and it's always a great time. I look forward to it every year.

Obviously, we know the weather. I am in NYC right now, and I live in Queens. A bunch of people have already backed, but 10 are going. They rented a van service for us to go there, and I can get a car service to come home. However, with the weather, there may be delays, so everyone is planning on leaving early.

I obviously know the smart thing to do here, but it's killing me because I love this party. Is it worth it to go - or do I cancel out and leave NYC early.

It's not sticking in NYC - but it is where I live - not sure what it is doing in Hackensack.

I have included a poll
------------------------------------------------

UPDATE:

I decided not to go. Thanks for all your input.

I found out that only 9 people were going, and none of them are ones I really socialize with.

Plus, they didn't want to leave NYC till 6:30 - the party starts at 7, ad we'd be leaving by 9:30. Considering traffic - it wasn't worth it.

Finally, my area and the area where the party is is getting hammered and I heard the roads are a mess.
----------------------------------------------

UPDATE #2

I left early to beat the rush hour and on my way home, got an email on my BB that the party had been cancelled, so I don't feel bad because I am not missing out Chat Icon

I would go.

as long as no one is sick or anything, go and enjoy yourself.

that is what I would say to my dh.

but if no one was sick, he wouldn't be asking this question Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: WWYD - Help Me Decide

How late can you back out? I would wait it out alittle while and see how the snow thing goes.

If it gets really bad then maybe back out, otherwise I'd go.

I can tell you, I don't live far from Hackensack and it's coming down pretty good here in North Jersey! I'd say we have just about over an inch on the ground where I am.

Re: WWYD - Help Me Decide

If I didn't have to drive at all, I would still go.

That being said, if I were you, I would go if Boosh is OK with the girls solo in the event that you got home extra late.

I'm not worried about getting there

I'm worried about getting stuck in NJ

staying at that house would be sweet though Chat Icon

I'd go, drink enough to make up for the people that backed out and left early and I would stay until it ends. The roads will probably be well taken care of by tonight and there will be less traffic on the road.

Have fun Chat Icon

Re: WWYD - Help Me Decide

I'm also going to add, Don, that I get out so rarely now, after having a baby, I imagine with twins, you get out even less. If it's something you look forward to all year - go.

But still see Boosh disclaimer above. Chat Icon

not going to happen - he arranged catering and pays for all this stuff out of his own pocket - so he'd lose money

Plus - he and other members of senior management travel alot - so this would be next to impossible to reschedule after the holidays

and i suppose those devices include LIF? Chat Icon

honestly, if it were me, i would not go. i hate bad weather like this and i would rather be home with DS and DH.

plus even if the roads are clear later, they could still be icy.
