Will one cup of tea kill me?

Ok so I'm really sick and hot tea with lemon has always made my throat feel better when I'm sick. Would it be ok to just have one cup today? I'm so scared to have any caffine but I could really use a cup of tea to help this horrible cold I have.

Can you have decaf?

I stayed away from all caffine during my first trimester. I do allow myself iced tea when I'm out, but in the morning's I still drink decaf tea.

How about some chamomile tea (its naturally decaf)?

If you don't have decaf tea you can just do hot water lemon and honey.... its really good and is what my DH and I both drink when we are sick... you don't need the tea!

I have decaf tea once in a while...
If you're really unsure about it, maybe just have hot water and honey? Sometimes that helps me feel better.

I'm at work and there is no decafe and I just really want a cup! I plan on going out after work to get some decafe. I just wanted to make sure regular tea would be ok just for today?

personally, no one cup of tea will not kill you. One can of soda, sips of ice tea, one cup of coffee, one chocolate bar, none will kill you. I know everyone views on this subject are different. Personally, go for the tea!!!

Decaf no problem also do hot steam helped alot

haha that's the kind of answer I'm looking for I haven't had caffine at all durning my pregnancy so I think one cup is ok. I just get worried something could go wrong:(

What about decafe - I was really sick thanksgiving with a horrific sore throat I caught from DD - I drank decafe with honey. No I don't think one cup of regular will hurt you - but you could have a couple of decafe teas and probably be happier.

Even my doctor told me that I can have up to 2 cups of coffee's worth of caffeine a day.. I did try to limit this, I have not had 2 cups a day, or even one cup a day yet, I do have caffeine once in a while... I say go for the cup of tea if its all you have... it will make you feel better!

just have decaf.....and if you really want to - you can have a cup of regular tea

as ive posted before i had a gastric bypass in 2002....at meals i always eat carbonnated drinks to help me "puush the food down into the pouch" lol that sounds gross but its not...i explained al lthis to my high risk OBGYN none the less and he is so cool..h looked at me and laughed..he said do you drink 2 12 packs a day? i said no..maybe a few cans....he said if that helps you eat and we are keeping an eye on the babies growtha nd progression (evencloser watch since i was high risk) then do it in moderation!.....i am 25 wks and the boys are now both measuring in heavier then most and have looked amazing the whole time..dont stress yourself out so much..your sick..and sometimes the cons outweight the positives....feel better!!!! add some honey to that! helped me last week!

I agree. I believe in moderation. I have been having hot chocolate a couple of times a week and not being concerned about it.

This is just me, but...after the 1st trimester, I've had whatever I want, when I want it. If that means 3 glasses of sweet tea with my dinner, it's fine.

There's a certain milligram limit of caffeine per day...I don't know what it is off the top of my head, but my OB said that as long as I stay under that limit, and don't go up to the limit every single day, it's fine.

Tara sorry you're sick and feeling nasty. I'm in the same place right now and I had a cup of tea last night (with honey). It made me feel soooo much better. At home, try to use the Lipton Decaf tea. But if you're out and cant get decaf, one cup wont do any harm.
