all of it when back into savings!! thats where it came out of... so went right back in!!
us too! but luckily, we made more than we spent, so it worked out well. then most of that savings we used towards our downpayment for our house.

Half went into our regular savings (for home improvements, taxes, etc...) the other half went into a high risk savings. We actually just pulled it the other day because after 4 years we were only up $20. I would rather put it in a CD where atleast the rate is constant.
ETS- the only thing we bought was a nice new mattress set.

we were afraid to do anything that would lock up the $$$ long term, since we're living on one income until september and will likely be moving in early summer. we originally had the $$$ in ING (3% interest) but moved most of it into an ING 6 month CD (3.75%) and we'll re-evaluate our finances and situation at the end of the 6 months.
We did use a little of it (< $1k) to buy some things from our registries that hadn't been purchased. (we considered them "wedding gifts" so we deducted the $$ from our wedding gifts sub-account in ING)

I chose other:
We used about 10% of it for spending money on our HM, 20% to wedding related bills and the remaining 70% to purchase a guest bed, pots & pans, curtains and other home stuff.
We didn't receive much cash. We got married in a state where gifts reign over cash.

down payment on the house. we closed on our house 6 months and 4 days after getting married.
Us too...we got back in gifts what we spent on our wedding but that was because we had a little help from each of our parents. We used the money to pay off what we spent while on our honeymoon and the rest went in the bank for a downpayment. We bought our house 5 months and 1 day after we got married.

We used it to pay off our credit card debt. We were debt-free for a LONG time, aaaaaaaaand now it's back.

paid off credit card debt that we racked up to pay for the actual wedding...it was the best thing we ever did bc then we had zero debt and were able to get approved for our home loan!

100% of it was put into a money market account, to eventually be used for a downpayment on a house.

We took, $2000 with us on our HM and we banked the rest.
ETA: Our Wedding/HM were paid in full the day we got married, we had NO debt.

I spent way more on my wedding than we made in wedding gifts - so I just put it back in the bank to bring us back up close to our pre-wedding level.

We threw the majority of it into savings to replace what we took out to pay for the wedding.
ditto. we repaid our accounts and any left over we invested (bought stock again since we sold some to buy our house a few years before that).

We are making very little money on it but atleast its safe.
We did the same thing -- what rate are you getting?
We just moved 1 of our CD to WAMU (before they got sold to Chase) and they were giving the highest rate of 5%....
We really shopped around this time.
We still have a few CD's left at our bank. when they come due will be looking to move them to what ever bank has the highest rate.
