For my 1st baby i only wanted DH in there and i made it known to anyone that would listen in the hospital and i told my mom many times i wanted it to be just me and DH. Well, my labor nurse fractured a rib and she couldn't hold my leg for my v birth so my mom had to stay since DH had the other and there were no other nurses avail.
And you know what? I wouldn't have had it any other way. She took such beautiful 1st pictures of my DD that there was NO WAY dh or I could have taken. The look on my moms face when DD was born and when she looked at her for the 1st time with tears streaming down her face, that memory will stay with me forever and ever.
Yes my mom did see my hoo ha but in the end, bELIEVE ME you won't care who see what when you are in labor and pushing.
I had a c section for my 2nd, and she was in there too, same thing...she took pics of my DD and was able to go with DD to the nursery while DH stayed with me cause i'm a baby.
It was a priceless experience that i'm so glad i was able to give my mom.
ETA: I would have loved my MIL in there as well since we are close too, she backed away and gave all the focus on my mom.

we allowed my mom to stay in the room with us for my DD up until i was about 9cm. As soon as they told us that she went to wait in the waiting room. We didnt know how long i would be labor for b/c i was induced so we asked that my mom join us just in case DH had to use the bathroom or something and so i was not alone. it worked out perfect. we plan on doing the same exact thing this time.
but we definately wanted to be alone for the actual pushing part.

In addition to my DH one of my best friends will be there through it..my mother will drive me to drink, and my mother in law doesnt even have a chance lol
My husband is SOOOOO nervous, so i feel like if hes doing ok, we'll ask my BFF to leave us right before she arrives, but during laboring, IM SURE my DH wil say SOMETHING stupid so id like to have her there too to keep me occupied lol
He tends to wanna make me laugh in situations where im in pain, and i HATE that lol...hes been warned

I think it will just be me and DH-- unless I decide I want my mommy! 
DH is not good in hospitals. He tends to faint at the sight of blood or seeing someone in pain, and I need someone who can help and support me. If he is not up to the task, well then-- I will need my mom.
Personally, I think the people that are in the room should be there for YOU. Not to witness the birth. You get to choose who you want to support you and help you through probably the most painful thing you will experience ever. Everyone else will see the baby in due time.

As of now i think it is just gonna be DH and I. BUt i would love for my mom to be there since it is such a special time and i dont know how much time she has left, I know if i bring this up my DH will fight back and say what about my mom. BLAH BLAH. So to be fair i think it will just be the 2 of us.

I personally want my Mommy there. She is an L&d nurse though. So it is a little different for me. Plus we are really super close.
But my MIL. HECK NO!! In fact I would like her to stay in TN until I tell her the baby is born!!

there is no way in Hell my MIL would be welcome in that room, it's such a private thing!! I wouldn't even want my own mother in there
Like I said-I like my MIL-I woukld NOT want my own Mom in there either. I am not the type to get changed in front of others or anything so maybe thats it. I don't know

DH and maybe my sister as his back-up. Everyone else can come in and out and keep us company leading up to the big debut, but otherwise, I think it would be too much.
I have the type of family where I think there would be an extra 10-15 people joining us if we said it was okay.

but my mom and mil and best friend can pop in- keep us occupied before and the dads can come in after-

Only DH. Anyone other than them and medical staff grosses me out. I don't even want ANYONE, including my parents, coming when I am in labor. I like my privacy. They will all be called after when DH and I and baby will have had time alone, and I feel READY for company.

She said she was "half joking" Honestly I don't think she had bad intentions but was hoping I would say yes sure no problem!

it was my mom and DH... that was it.
this is mom's only grandchild, and she was knocked out for my birth, so she never experienced a full delivery, believe it or not!
I wouldn't want anyone else around... I especially wouldn't want a pile of people waiting in a waiting room.... too much pressure. my labor lasted 33 hours, and ended at 3AM. I was kept in L&D for 3 hour after that becuase of bleeding... no need for people hovering around....

Its going to be my mom and DH. DH doesn't handle doctors, hospitals or anything medical well. DH was with me for my 2nd IUI and the doctor dragged him into the room when I was having it done. There I am, with my feet in the stirrups and the speculum already in place. The doctor is showing poor DH my cervix. I thought he was going to lose it. I think to this day he is still scarred from that. God help me if I have to have a c-section. All bets are off on that. My mom gave birth to me, she changed my diapers, she has medical experience so I feel more than comfortable having her there with me as well. Thank god MIL has the same feelings as DH regarding anything medical, so I don't think its going to be a factor about wanting to be in the delivery room as well.

Before I delivered, while I was laboring, I had so many people in my room. But I LOVED it because it really past the time. But then when it came time for the actual delivery, we kicked everyone out and it was just me and my husband. It will be the same for this baby.
I would be fine with this
I think having people there when you are laboring is one thing as that can take HOURS but for the actual delivery....there's the door !!!!
