Does he take any preventative/maintenance asthma meds? I swear, pulmicort is AMAZING....Em's asthma is pretty bad but the pulmicort helps to prevent bad flare ups..
As far as sending him to preschool.....you fill out paperwork which the doc has to sign also giving the nurse permission to administer meds at school if need be. My stdents who are asthmatic have their pump (inhaler) and rescue nebulizer meds right there in the nurses office. Some kids get them every day, on a schedule, some only when needed.
I am happy tht I am only 2 minutes away (3 houses) from Emily's school, so I could be there in a second if we got a call.
We had the same kind of incident and his pulse ox was like 89 and they sent us to the hospital. After that he went on Pulmicort and he did soooo well using that as a maintenance drug.
At daycare we fill out a form and the doc signs it that allows them to administer the treatments. The people there are certified to use the nebulizer.

thanks everyone! I will get to the fms in a bit(they are usually so informative, so I don't want to miss any details)
back at the dr today...he started breathing heavy at 1ish...it did not fade after treating it...so back in the car...
he is going to start a preventative steriod nightly...the name escapes me.
In the end, josh got what he wants...a mattress on my bedroom floor. Leo was up all night checking on him and said he can't sleep with josh struggling to breathe in his room.
I am exhasted. I stared at a belly today for an hour straight to try and determine if its getting better or worse...
