My lease is up in 2 months - and although I don't have #2 yet I am assuming I will at some point during my next lease.

We are talking about getting a car (I have had only SUV's for the past 9 years!) but I am nervous I wont have enough room for 2 kids and all the stuff that goes along with it.

Any words of advice??

I only have 2 during the daytime, but we go a lot of places in my car.

I have a toyota matrix...2 carseats fit fine in the back with room in between them.

single umbrella stroller in back as well as double lay down flat in a single row in back. I bring to the park 2 ride on toys for each of them, also fit in the back..

I currently have an older car - it's a 98 LeSabre....

My dad asked me if i wanted a car or an SUV. I told him a car with 4 doors and something with a large enough trunk to fit her stroller plus incidentals. Lemme tell u what... He SCORED with this car...

This car has such a huge back seat - you could totally get 2 car seats in there easily! And the trunk.... OMG.... the trunk is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

I had a 5 seater car when i had just 3. The twin stroller was fine in the trunk and I fit 2 carseats and a booster across the backseat.

We have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The back seat is very roomy. We have 2 Britax Marathons in the back and even though another person wouldn't be able to sit in the back seat our dog (a lab) can sit in the middle. Our huge double stroller fits in the trunk too!

I had the same car, but it as a Pontiac, the Vibe. Very roomy, and excellent on gas mileage.

I have an Accord and it's great. We have two Roundabouts in it. Trunk space, not a problem. No one can really sit in the back seat with any comfort, but I guess that's the situation with most cars.

Up until recently we only had two cars, A Hyundai Elantra and a Toyota Camry. We had two Britax seats in the Camry and a double stroller in the trunk.

I couldn't do any major shopping trips as I could only store groceries in the floor and front seat, and on the floor of the back seat.

Road trips were out of the question... no room for two booster seats or two pack and plays to nap in. But it did give me a great excuse over the holidays... I couldn't go to all day gatherings in non babyproofed housesChat Icon everyone had to come to us.

I have a sedan (08 Saturn Aura) and it's really really roomy with a really big trunk. I have a Britax in the back and there is plenty of room for DS. I looked at a few SUVS and honestly, the backseat of my car and trunk space was bigger than many of them. Not to mention the gas issue.

I don't have either (a car or 2 kids Chat Icon ) but a friend of mine does. She refuses to buy an SUV, and has driven Honda Accord (4dr) for 3 yrs and at her lease end she leased an Infiniti G35 (4dr). She fit two car seats in the back (one at each door-none in the middle).

My DH just got a Pontiac Vibe. It's fantastic on gas and very roomy for a little car. Parked next to my Acadia I call it his midget car but man it fits a whole lot in it!!

I don't have two kids...

I have a Ford Fusion and could totally fit two kids in the car. Actually, there just as much room as my old Explorer!

I have 2 - right now Robbie is in a booster and Noah is in a convertible 5 point harness carseat. They both fit comfortably. In the morning when I have my goddaughter I am even able to put a 3rd booster in the middle - although it just BARELY squeezes in there and comes out the second Robbie is out the door!

I have a Taurus SE - I think it is 2007.. but I could be wrong about the year.

I have a Nissan Maxima and I do just fine. With #2 on the way, I think the car seats will fit just fine. As long as the trunk is empty, I think the stroller will fit fine too Chat Icon

I have a small car, 2 kids fit but we only have 1 carseat. I have only had cars so I'm going with an suv next time. Its definitly feasible though.

Personally, I could never give up my SUV. It's not huge (it's an X5) but I need the extra space...or maybe I just schlep around too much crap? Not sure...but I think it would be really hard to downsize to a car once you're used to an SUV.

I have an Accura TL and it is fine for me to go here and there but not big enough for our family with the 2 car seats and a stroller or 2 in the trunk. If the stroller is in the trunk (Metrolite) - then I can barely fit my groceries!! And no way can even a small person fit between the car seats. So only 2 adults per car ride.

Luckily we have a SUV (4Runner) for driving trips, lugging things, and can carry one other small person between 2 car seats in the back. We talk about getting a larger SUV but in the future - definitely if we decide to have a 3rd.

Have you thought about something in between? We have an SUV, but also a Subaru Outback. I just adore the outback and it has more room than a traditional sedan, but not quite as big and overbearing as an SUV. Plus it gets one of the highest safety ratings, and all wheel drive. That sucker can handle any weather!

I would get a crossover or a large sedan. I drive an SUV and DH has the Infinite G35x and it is great for 1 child. I did take it for a week with the 2 kids which meant an infant carrier and a forward facing Britax Boulevard and it was fine as far as space (I did have the boulevard rear facing a few times was DS was little and it was still fine). The issue is the trunk. I had the Graco Quattro Duo and I could not get it in because it was to thick no matter which way I turned it. If I would have gotten it in I would definitly had room on the sides.
I am not inlove with my SUV at all and I think when DH's lease is up I am going to get a crossover like the nissan murano or the Mazada CX9. As far as car the Infiniti M35x is gorgeous and Infiniti's drive like a dream and that trunk really is large and so is back seat. You probably could fit a person inbetwen the car seats. Now you probably won't seat any sort of double of stroller maybe a sit n stand at hte most and I really don't think you will have any problem with trunk space for a single except like Theresa said, it's when you have to bring everything and then some because you are going somewhere that isn't babyproofered or have children their.

I have this also. I have mroe then enough room, and the double stroller takes up only 1/2 of the trunk, not all the way across like in some cars.

We have a PT Cruiser. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. We've even done long weekend trips (3 days) just in the car (with a roof-rack).

We want to get a bigger vehicle just so we can carry more people (grandparents, classmates, etc), but we're not in a huge rush to do that.

I don't have 2 kids but I have my nephew in my car on a regular basis. I would say as long as it's a 4 door you should be fine.

we have the Camry. we only have Bella, but have transported my nephew in a booster and one if his nieces in a reg carseat. It's completely fine. Our lease is up too and we are either going Camry or Accord after MUCH deliberation and the gas price explosion.
