Growing up in the south it was a term that I often heard and occassionally used. I used it more fo rhumor then anything. We would have white trash diinners that included fluffer nutters,frito pies and moonpies. I never considered it racist, but then again I think the world has become overly concerned about being PC.

I think white trash refers to a certain sterotype and yes I have used the term.

I think white trash refers to a certain sterotype and yes I have used the term.

Yes. I even add "trailer" in front of it. That does not mean I insult anyone living in a trailer but I lived in the South for many years and that would explain why I use the term.

I have used it many times. When I lived in Florida for over 5 years you tend to see certain people that fit the bill there but on Long Island there is definately no shortage of the people here.

Ummm, yeah. I use it to describe people who have a certain behavior--not so much poor white people liiving in trailers.
Applies to a couple of my relatives.

sometimes...but you should see some of the ppl that are in the town where i am from...holy crap i think everyone from a big city would be using that phrase if they some some of these ppl! some of them are just gross!

I had a teacher that told us that the term white trash is actually racist - it implies that there is a difference between white and black when it comes to poverty, and if white people are poor, or living a certain way, we have to actually make a term for it to imply what a travesty that is... I thought it was an interesting perspective...
