For those who have tried Clomid

Dh and I are about to start Clomid. I was wondering if it actually really works as well as I have read. Have any of you ladies ever tried it? Are there any side effects?

My sister took it with nephew #1 and #2 - got pregnant within 3 cycles with each

then with nephew #3; she got pregnant on the pill LOL

i am finishing my first round tonight!! (pill #5)

Clomid tricks your body into producing more eggs. So you have more chances to get PG every month. I got pregnant on Clomid but I always O'd on my own and got PG anyway. My Dr gave it to me to raise my after O progesterone

YES I DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDD!!!!!!

I am totally ecstatic and beside myself. I hadn't had an ovulatory cycle in 8 years, and I really wasn't expecting miracles right away. In fact, I was almost positive I wasn't going to get a BFP this month because our "timing" was a little off.

BUT, here I am, after my 1st month. I'd say it works pretty well!!! Best of luck to you!!!

I went on it this month. I'm on CD19 now but I took it CD3-7. The Dr. saw that at CD12 I had responded greatly to it, I had mature follicles... and I O'd on CD17. I have PCOS. Hoping for a BFP in 2 weeks

I am on cycle 2 of clomid - I ovulated last month and according to my CBEFM, I am ovulating as I type....so, if anything at least I know it is getting me to ovulate - now it's about timing....DH and I BD'd last night, so hoping that did the trick!

I took it last month for the first time, and it backfired for me - normally I ovulate without a problem every month, and with the Clomid I didn't ovulate at all!

Apparently, sometimes, if the dose is too low, it's sufficient to rev the system to produce follicles, but not enough to complete the task in terms of actually ovulating.

From what I understand though, it's very rare...

Clomid is the most common first line of treatment for infertility because it induces ovulation in women who don't O on their own. If you do O on your own, it can improve egg quality and quantity. It also improves progesterone levels in the LP. HTH!

I am yet to try it but was great to read this post w/ the different opinions. for those of u who got pregnant on clomid were u getting IUI's as well or just doing it solo?

I am on Clomid now- I'm on my 3rd cycle- so hopefully this is our month..
DD I got pregnant on month 2 w/ Clomid.
I have a very irregular cycle, so the Clomid helps me ovulate in a timely manner (sometimes my cycle is 30 days, sometimes 40, sometimes 50!).
Anway- doing Clomid with just regular BD.. no IUI. However, my doc will only let me go 3 cycles unassisted.... if this month doesn't work, then I have to go for IUI.
