My guess would be the warm ground for them to find seeds and worms since it's so warm out.

where are you because i have a feeling the same flock has been over here. on 2 differant days i saw something like this. once was while driving. i saw them in the road so i stopped and waited till they moved the realized how many of them ther was. then one morning i work up to this sound and realized they where all over.... i could not believe it

My mom said this happened to her a few months back...all of a sudden, thousands of birds were on the properties in their neighborhood, no one could go outside, they were EVERYWHERE. She didn't think to take a picture, but she thinks they were just migrating.
But she did say that she could see them in the trees-the trees were black, and they were all over everyone's lawn, up by her front door etc.

its a flock that is migrating back up north and decided to take a stop for a snack!!
kind of like a bus tour at a rest stop!!!
