anyone have their doctor say the baby was going to be huge and it wasn't?
i had a growth sono on tuesday at 34 weeks and they projected that DS is already over 6.5lbs. now the doctor wants to monitor me much closer because he thinks i am going to need to go earlier than my due date. i am very uncomfortable, so i can only imagine how the baby feels.

No, I was the opposite. Doc said he would be big, and estimated 8.5 lbs. He was born at 9lbs 10oz

Hey Kel- hope you're feeling ok!
I know that has happened to a few girls on here- MrsJ, I believe, was predicted to have a 10lb baby and her DD was normal size.

They thought that I was having a big baby and have me sono at 40 weeks and they said she was over 7lbs (smaller than I was measuring) and when she was born almost 5 days later she was only 6lbs 14oz

totally freaking out dot. maddy was just over 7 lbs so when the dr said this one is already 6.5 lbs i thought i was going to pass out. i tell my idiot husband and his answer is "well it's a boy so of course it will be bigger." easy to say for the person not pushing it out.

the last 2 weeks I was told baby was well over 9lbs on the day of my DDs birth the nurse did a sono and said wow what a BIG baby and when my OBGYN came in she said sweetie they are telling me the baby is over 10lbs
DD was born 8lbs 4oz

 Ok so for your sake, I hope they are wrong!! Those sonos are not always right.. is your belly measuring really big and ahead of schedule?

I was told at 36 weeks that DD was over 7 lbs. and would be very large. She went 10 days past my due date (so 41 weeks, 3 days) and was 8 lbs 2 oz - pretty average.

my whole body has stayed pretty much the same size except i have this perfectly round stomach that looks like it is defying gravity sticking straight out from me. the doctor didn't say that my belly was measuring too big, he said the baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule. i know my due date is right, so this is just a big baby.

TWO days before I had him the tech told me that he was NO MORE then 9lbs. She said between 8.5 and 9.0. Not an ounce over 9.......He was 9lbs 14ounces....she had no clue what she was talking about!
ETA: Jack was also two weeks ahead of schedule also....and I went two weeks late.

My doc told me that the sonos at the end of the pregnancy can be off about 2lbs (2lbs less or 2lbs more  then what they tell you)

My sonos were right on. At week 34 he was measuring at 8lbs 12 oz. Two days before I delivered they measured him at 11lbs 2oz. He was born at 11lbs. 8oz. at 38 weeks. I Hope in your case, they are wrong!!!

They told us our son had a very large head, it was actually smallish when born. They estimated his birthweight at over 8 and 1/2 lbs and he was 7 lbs 11 0z's. So not that huge but not really accurate either.

That sounds like me. Mine was 7lbs at 35 weeks and they induced me a few days before thinking he'd be huge. He was only 8lbs 4oz almost 5 weeks later...a little big but no big deal. Easy delivery

Me too- said 8lb 4oz, DS was 9lb 12oz. C SECTION!

I had the opposite. According to my sono's she was measuring small. I only gained 20lbs and my belly was measuing 2 weeks behind. My doctor thought the most she would be was 7lbs. Well she 8lbs 13oz. She wasn't a huge baby but a lot bigger then what we thought. With DS they were right on.

YES!! I went in for my 30 week appointment and the sono tech said "No Way! This baby is measuring around 34-36 weeks!" 
They even told me they might have to take me early if she got much bigger in my last few weeks.
In the end, she was born on her due date and was still a big baby at 8 lbs, 10 oz!

I had a sono the day my son was born and they said he was going to be 8lbs and he was 6lbs8oz. The resident at the hospital told me that if the baby is long it really throws them off!

My doctor said I was measuring one week ahead and kept asking, "How big were you and DH at birth?" I was over 8, he was almost 10  . At my growth sono at 36 weeks- I was told she was 7.5 pounds and to expect a big baby.
That CAN'T be right because she was born 4 weeks later at 7lbs, 6oz.

I was high risk and 3 different doctors told me she would be 10+. I gave birth a day late and she was 8pds 14oz. Stil really big especially since I'm only 4'11!
So they were right that she was big just off with the pds.

Me. They told me at 34 weeks that my son was already 7.5lbs . I was freaking out!!! I still had 6 weeks to go. I was convinced that I was going to have a 10lb baby. The funny thing was my doctor sent to to have him measured because I was measuring so small with the tape measure. In the end he was 8.5lbs.

At my last appt with my son they said he was almost 9lbs. That was the day I went into the hospital. Imagine my surprise when a 6lb 15oz peanut popped out.

Me! 2 days before DS was born, he was estimated to be about 8 1/2 lbs. He was born 2 days later at 7lbs, 4oz.
