 1 day late...Testing question...Updated!
Ok, so AF was due yesterday & nothing....As many of you remember, I tested at 12DPO & got a BFN. I didn't test this morning but have all intentions of.
I was just reading that it is best to not take in excessive fluids before testing...I drink about 2 liters of water a day, do you think I should wait til tomorrow morning to test???
  TIA!
So I held off til this morning & tested...Still BFN. So either I ovulated at a later date or someone is playing tricks on me! I am not giving up til she rears her ugly head!!!

 Re: 1 day late...Testing question
I have no experience taking HPTs. But, I have told myself that I will only test when AF is late and with FMU. I hope I listen to myself when the time comes!!!!
ETA: I, too, drink alot of water during the day, which is why I felt it would be better to do it in the morning.

 Re: 1 day late...Testing question
Since your AF is late, it really doens't matter when you test...if you are pregnant it will show up at any test...even if you drink a lot of water...
  Good luck!!

Not necessarily. Some women don't get a BFP until a couple of days past when AF is due. BUT, I would test this afternoon anyway maybe try to cut back your water intake for a few hours before you POAS.

 Re: 1 day late...Testing question
When I tested with FMU on the day AF was due I got a positive. I didn't believe it so I went back out and bought more tests and took two more throughout the day...both positive. You can test, but if you get a negative, don't get down...test again tomorrow morning.
If you can hold out, then wait until tomorrow, if not test now...lol.

Good luck!! Not everyone gets a BFP the day of or after AF is due. I say wait until tomorrow morning if you can. I could not, which is why I went through 9 tests I was obsessed with POAS.....

 Re: 1 day late...Testing question
I think the idea behind the excessive fluid is so you don't force yourself to pee. so either stop drinking at a certain time and test tonight or test in the AM with FMU. Either way, good luck.

 Re: 1 day late...Testing question
The reason FMU is best is because Hcg - the pregnancy hormone is found in greater concentration at that time.
Today at 15DPO if you are PG, there might be enough Hcg in your blood to turn a sensitive test positive late in the day.
But, my theory is why make yourself nuts by testing under less than ideal conditions and rish getting a BFN, when tomorrow morning at 16 DPO you're more likely to get an accurate reading???

Thank you for the insight. I have convinced myself to test first thing tomorrow morning. I only have 1 test left & don't want to buy more unless I have to. I figure at 16 DPO I have a better chance of getting an accurate reading

 Re: 1 day late...Testing question
The reason the tests tell you not to drink a lot of fluid before testing is because if you are very early on a lot of water in your body can dilute the HCG and make in unreadable by the HPT. Once you are late though, there should be enough HCG in the body you should be able to test at any time. But to give yourself some peace of mind test with FMU.. that way you won't be left wondering "what if..."
