5 weeks past partum - more clothes are fitting but...

I am still 20 pounds over my pre-preggo weight... I gained 40 pounds altogether, and I lost 20 in the 1st week... But could not fit into the clothes I'm fitting into now...

I have been going on walks but not doing weight training, so its not the muscle weighs more than fat thing - so whats up with that? Is this weird?

I hate seeing this weight on the scale too - but at least I'm wearing more of my clothes, which obviously is the most important thing...

Here's some Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon You've already lost 20 pounds though- that's awesome. You'll lose it eventually. It took 9 months to put it on....

I can't believe he's 5 weeks old already!!!!

ETA: Once you start using weights again, it will come off more quickly....

It will come off. Don't forget your body increases fluids and blood volume too for pg, that takes a little while to go down.

I bet by the time you reach 8 weeks PP you will have dropped another 10lbsChat Icon

Thank you - I needed to hear that! Chat Icon

I walked 3 mi with Cailen today, and started doing some weights tonight - need to tone up my flabby arms - at least if I have some muscle tone again, I'll feel a little better!

I had gained 45 and lost 37 when I was 6 weeks pp. I ended up gaining weight after that and put on 9lbs and when I pg this time I was a total of 20lbs heavier than when I was with DS and that was 6.5 after I gave birth. It will take time before it comes off.
