When did everyone start not fitting in their clothes?

I am so paranoid this pregnancy since I had no clue I miscarried the last time until a sonogram told us. So I feel like I should be showing more- I am at 10 weeks this Thursday. My clothes are tighter but some still fit fine. I am freaking out that the baby is not growing and that something is wrong.

I never had bad morning sickness- just headaches and nausea so now I am starting to lose it.

I started feeling snug in clothes pretty quick, but I didn't need to wear maternity or bella bands until around 10-12 weeks. But that's also because many of my things were fitted to begin with.

I started buying some maternity pants around 10 weeks because my regular pants were getting snug. But...I never had m/s so I always would think something is wrong.

I just wrote an entire response and it got deleted. I basically said that you sound exactly how I sound! I have been taking pictures every week to make sure I'm growing and I never feel like I am growing enough (especially for twins, I thought). But what I try and remember is I've never been PG before so how would I know what is normal for ME? I HTH. Oh and I was completely in maternity pants and tops around 14 weeks.

Oh first and foremost, please don't worry yourself Christine Every person is so different when they are preggo , that you really cannot compare us at all.. esp. when it comes to nausea, some ladies never get that (be happy about that one!! )and their pregnancies are perfectly OK!!

TO answer your question, I didn't fit into ANY maternity clothes until somewhere between my 15-16th week -- maybe even a little bit later to be honest. And that was only pants. I initially was VERY bloated, so at first all my regular pants were tight -- but I used the bella band until the bloat went away and I also wore some of my "bigger (fat) pants" until I got a noticeable belly. When I would try putting on maternity pants at that stage, they were just wayyy too big.

As for shirts, I am still wearing a lot of my regular tops - and some are just in a bigger size, like an XL .. and I'm 21 weeks! My boobs got huge, yes, but again my belly has been the last thing to "grow" so all the maternity tops I bought are just SWIMMING on me and look kind of silly .. I sort of "popped" this weekend so I'm gradually wearing my maternity tops now though!


Don't fret if you aren't noticing your belly growing.. trust me that baby IS growing, he/she is just sooo tiny right now they don't need much room yet!

The only maternity items that I have been wearing are maternioty shirts. I started wearing them at about 20 weeks or so. I am 32 weeks and I am still wearing my own pants.

I started pretty early. But, I wasn't thin to begin with so any little bit of weight would send me up a size

Don't worry about it! I understand, with this pregnancy I was just as paranoid but I've progressed nicely. I am very thin to begin with so I was wearing my regular clothes until about 14 weeks but they were VERY snug, partially because my pregregnancy clothes were all fitted to begin with. Now I'm in small maternity pants at 16 weeks. You'll get there. I just had my first "pop".

Thanks everyone- I just feel like I am the same- even boob wise- they got bigger- just not that big.

I am really tempted to call my doc and schedule another sonogram just to put my mind at ease. I don't think I can wait until June 22.

I am worrying too about whether I am not showing enough. I am 14w3d and my clothes still fit ok..a little snug (I have to keep the button open) but for the most part, I look exactly the same with clothes on. I do have a pouch though but I just dont look pregnant. At my ultrascreen the dr. told me that the baby is measuring about 5 days bigger. I keep comparing myself to this girl that I work with. She started to really show around this time...I have to stop comparing..its driving me crazy

Have you thought of renting a doppler? It has been such comfort for me. I harass my little one with it daily.

I was doing the rubber band trick until about 16 weeks, then I had to go into maternity clothes

Oh my god - I feel like I am living 1 day after you! I am due 1 day after you and the sono is one day later as well... And I also had a m/c...so I am paranoid as well.

My waist was tiny to begin with and a lot of clothes were fitted b/c of that problem. Now my regular pants are snug at the waist so I started wearing 0-3 mo maternity pants, which are way too loose in the waist (bella band is also too huge). This makes me nervous. I also have major bloating that comes and goes so one second I think "oh finally," then it goes away.

Even my DH can barely notice any changes in my body except for the look on my face when anyone even talks about meat or something gross.

I guess my point is it's normal to be nervous and that everything is going fine. The baby is only like an inch big right now - nothing we should really notice yet. If you didn't have a sono yet I would talk to your doc to maybe do one to put you at ease.

I am 10 weeks 2 days and I can definately relate. Some days I won't fit into my clothes at all then like today I woke up and my belly was much smaller. These things freak me out even though I know most of my belly at this point is bloating. I too had a previous miscarriage and am supposed to go next week to "hear" the hb on a doppler. Already had 2 u/s - and I am soo freaked out you would not believe...

We should start a support group

I was still wearing my regular jeans in the beginning of my second trimester, so I wouldn't be too concerned, everyone is different.

Maybe if you call your OB and tell them how worried you are, they'll get you in for a quick sonogram to make you feel better.

You could be a nut like me and I took a HPT weekly until about 10 weeks or so, to make sure it still said "pregnant"

All my maternity pants are still falling off of me, but my regular clothes don't fit...I am 19 weeks. I too get worried especially since this is my second and I was showing more at this point with my first. But like they say, every pregnancy is different even from one to two for each person. And I started feeling movement only recently, whereas I felt it at about 16 weeks with Jack. I have my ultrasound tomorrow and I am very nervous. I'm trying not to think about it, instead just assume I have a quiet, dainty little girl in that belly as opposed to my maniac 19 month old toddler Jack.

I fit into my regular clothes till 20 weeks and a lot of people couldnt tell I was pregnant till then.

i didn't officially grow out of all my pants until i was 17-18 weeks. I wasn't in maternity shirts until 20 something weeks.

I'm about 12 weeks and I am barely fitting into my pants. I use the Bella Bands but their getting a bit annoying lately. I started to have a bump this time with my first Pregnancy. Its a tough stage when you can't fit into your regular clothes and maternity clothes are still too big.

I am 25 weeks tomorrow and still so small....I am wearing reg clothes but feel "fat" and so much wider than I ever was....and if one more person coments on "how small I am carying"

I know how you feel. I've felt great my entire pregnancy and at times I wonder if my little bean is ok in there. I just started my 15th week and I'm still in my regular work pants with a bella or rubberband (although they look like they don't fit right anymore). I recently purchased maternity jeans b/c my regular ones were so fitted to begin with. I've gone back and forth about getting a doppler and I still haven't decided.

Go see your doctor early if it will put your mind at ease.

I am worried also, because at 12 weeks I still fit into regular jeans, etc. People don't think I look pregnant. MY boobs don't really hurt any more and I am only slighty nauseous. I go for a sonogram on Wed, and I am so nervous.. I also took a few preg. tests that said I am still preggo. I can't stand the anxiety I have.
