my old job keeps paying me!
Ok, so I left my old job a month ago...I knew i was getting two more pay checks...but I just got two more..both for weeks that I didn't work, b/c I was already at my new job....I'm not a dishonest person so it feels weird not to say anything...what do i do? my DH thinks I shouldn't say anything

I'm an accountant - if this was not intentional, chances are payroll will catch it sometime in the future.

I am a big believer in Karma so that would make me call and tell them.
I also believe that businesses do the books...weeke end, month end and year end...I would be petrified for an entire year that they would figure it out and I would get arrested for stealing. SO I guess I am saying, call them.
That's just me though.

are you positive that they didn't hold two weeks of pay or pay you for vacation?
i ask, because i got two additional paychecks (like the next period) after I left my job. it was for the two weeks they held in the beginning and some of my vacation time.
if it wasn't that, i'd let them know...but just make sure it isn't really yours in some way!

I would say something-- and definitely DO NOT spend the money-- because they will want it back of course as soon as you spend it.

As much as I wouldn't want to, I'd tell them. Same thing if my current job ever overpaid me, which has happened twice, I tell them.

That's just me though.
I'm the exact same way. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it because I would (a) feel like I am stealing and (b) worry that they would find out and I would have get in major legal trouble.

honestly I don't know...for example I got paid holiday pay for Presidents day and a reg work week and I didn't work that week, b/c that was the week I started my new job....and the statement that I got in the mail today was for last week. I'm going to call my old AM & friend tomorrow b/c I honestly wouldn't know who else to call.
but thanks for the advice ladies

you know the other thing may be is that you get paid out two weeks behind-- so, this may all be paychecks that are due to you.

I thought that...but I was pt and got paid every week...plus the whole getting paid for a holiday I didn't work (that I mentioned in the above post
)kinda tipped me off that something might be wrong
